Accidental Breeding

Hi Bigridge,

How long ago did this happen / what day was she bred ?

They used to have a shot that would make the female abort. If I remember right it was called mismate. I would ask a lot of questions at the vets if I had to do it. I remember years ago the vet telling me there was side effects.

There is a shoot called a mismate shot but I can't remember how soon after the breeding you have to give the shot also it can be risky

This is only my opinion and personal experience. The shot is called lutalyse and I would strongly recommend against it. It can make dogs sick and can affect their hunting ability. It can throw her future heat cycles off and she will possibly never be able to breed. Did it once on BAD advice from a vet. Many vets won't give it at all. Best not to mess with mother nature. Let her have them

i done the shot deal and it worked, then bred to 2 different males and didnt work, done the ai deal(500 dollars) it worked, bred to another male it worked.i would never get that shot again if i was planning on breeding my female in the future unless i did the ai deal
