UKC $World Hunt

Todd/Allen
I'm just thinking out loud here. How about next year the U offers a $25,000 incentive to go to your world hunt? Split it between the final 4. On average I would say there are over 500 DIFFERNT entry's that enter your world hunt every year. At $100 a piece that's $50,000 and I'm only asking for you to consider $25,000.

In all reality this is the only world hunt a working man can compete in. Every one that wants to play only gets one entry and that's the way it should be. The $30,000 and $40,000 world hunts are nice but the working man can't afford to take off all week. If you offered a little more incentive I think you would have more individual dogs entered than all the others combined.

You offer a world hunt a working man can compete in and want to thank you for that!

Also this $ would be in addition to some of the breed associations incentives. (B&Ts and Walkers)

Heres what Id do. I know I've had some good ideas and ukc should prolly give me some money but anyhow . Way I see it ukc has over 160 rqe hunts. So Im figuring on just 15 dogs at those rge hunts. Its actually gotta be more. Anyhow thats 2400 dogs hunting to get qualified for the world. Id raise the entry to $50. Everything has went up. Might as well make that go up. That would be $ 48k more for the world hunt every yr. Heck pay 20 dollars more on a rqe entry and hunt for over 40k. Who wouldn't do that? Be crazy not to.

One last thing Id have to do. Id have to put a time limit on covering trees. Just a min. I dont want a covering fool winning the 48k and other trophys.

Money

Everyone has there opinion but to me the ukc world hunt is the best one. Now if they added money there wouldn't even be a debate. I really don't understand why they don't but really the money you would win will be gone in no time. It's all about the history and UKC. I think there the most down to earth of the kc's and actually don't different in how much money you have. You got to love that, there EQUAL.

Yeah I think they should give money. To many ways to get it that no one would even notice. Increase the entry's a little

Entries

I don't believe in raising the entries. Remember keep it so the working man can afford it.

Where do you get that PKC requires a whole week? All that is required by the PKC World Hunt is Thursday, Friday, Saturday, same as the UKC World a Hunt.

If a man cant afford $50 Maybe he should find a new hobby or a stick to pleasure hunting. Yes. Even a working man.

Jim

If you would, please tell me the last time your winner came from Thursday night AND that was the only night it was entered.

You don't think I did a little research before I posted.

Posted by JiM on 08-01-2014 05:42 PM:

You made a statement that was incorrect. Simple as that. I don't care who or how many hunt all 6 nights, all that is required is 3 nights, exactly the same as the UKC Finals.

Its not just the entry fee ($50) but also the cost of gas and food. At my club (which is only a half hour from me) i generally guide and judge. By the time the night is over i have driven 2 hours plus driving from spot to spot. With the cost of a $15 poor boy hunt by the time the night is over it costs $75. That is just a local hunt. That is why i cant afford to travel to competition hunt anymore.

Yes I agree.

But I still stand by the statement that if UKC offered more incentive $ to enter their world hunt they would crush the other KCs entries. Do you agree with that?

Posted by RRILEY on 08-01-2014 09:36 PM:

In years past I'd say you are dead on, but with the new changes of payout at the $kc world hunt just implemented I think their entries will be considerably larger moving forward.

I'm not sure what you are trying to accomplish here. More entries? UKC 's World Hunt already has more entries than all the others combined. And the Finals are a set number, you can't get more there because it is setup for 100. If you want more at the zones, I guess make it easier to qualify but really, who wants to see that? The RQE's draw many thousands total, how many more you want? Just not sure what your goal is here other than getting paid to win it.

I do believe that is the goal Jim and one I would like to see happen but probably never will. As you stated they already have the biggest draw so what incentive would they have for paying out money? None as far as I can see.

Money

Entries I'm talking raise them $5 on the rqe heck if u can't afford 5 more you shouldn't be there anyway. And yes there's been times I couldn't afford so I stayed home, lol. But what incentive would they have. I think the number would go up 25% at least if they gave away $25,000 for first place. But It doesn't matter either way I would enjoy it either way.

I totally agree with you but they would want $4 of that for administration fees.

Yes the money would be great! But I don't think they need to open that can of worms. With money comes dishonesty and greed. I don't know about anyone else, but I am in this sport for the fun of it and for the dogs. Add big money as a prize and it makes it all about the money and not about the stuff that our support is supposed to be about! JMO
