Does anybody around central east ky lease land to coonhunt just wondering what would be a fair price for 4 or 5 hundred acre spread. Also has anyone ever had any luck just driving around going door to door asking for permission. Also thought about putting an add in the paper to lease a place to hunt . Would like to hear what others in any state have tried just wondering what prices in ky run. Any info appreciated.

We've tried leasing property to coon hunt on. Most people that leases land to hunt on does so for deer and Turkey and will not lease it to coon hunters and expect a high price even if they will talk to you about it. Best thing to do is talk to some dairy farmers as they most usually own/lease hundreds of acres and the coons tear up the bunker covers on their silage.

Thanks for the info. Anybody ever just went farm to farm and stopped and asked ? Also what about platt books do they list the landowners contact info or is it just a map of the land?

Something else you could try would be to get a list of landowners from your county PVA office. I actually joined as a member on their website and have a years worth of access to my whole county. Have referenced it alot and also found alot of people that I knew but didnt know that they owned alot of land. Its like a google earth map and shows the property boundaries too.

I go around and ask a lot of people especially ones adjoining my properties. Got to do it during the day don't try it at night haha. I get good responses when I have my dog with me and tell them I won't leave a mess and what not.
