what in your opinion makes a good bobcat hound ?

Taking a cold track in the snow and being able to sort it out and get the cat jumped. Then track speed (fast), intelligence (cat sense) and locating ability (accurate).

Watching a good hound cold trail a cat track through a deer yard is pretty impressive. Amazes me actually.

It was explained to me by Joe Hudson that a top cat dog has to be a lay up type tree dog that can accurately tree game off the wind. My question is......is that because a cat hits a tree six feet up or higher? Pretty interesting. Love running cats.

Up here dog needs to have that extra push when the cat is jumped. Has to want to catch not just chase, lately we have a lot of cats bay up
