$$$

What is the most you've ever given for a hound or what is the most you know of someone giving for a hound?

I gave $1000 for my male dog. I doubt I'll ever spend that kind of money again but he is worth every penny in my book.

$1100. about 2yrs later I turned down $30k.

The guy I bought him from was there when I got the offer. He asked me why I turned it down, and said you could have drove a brand new pickup home for that kinda money and I KNOW what you paid for him.

I just told him I would wear out that brand new pickup looking for another one I liked as much and would fail.

I never regretted the decision even once.

I have in the past turned down a lot of money for one but I raise and train a lot of my own dogs but on the other hand I have had people make big offers in a crowd of people and never show the cash lol

The best dog I ever had I traded a 308 rifle for him that I had bought at an auction for $50. They didn't know if it was functional or not so I bought it cheap. I took it home cleaned it and it worked great. I traded for the dog and hadn't even hunted him. The thought was if he aint worth a crap I only got 50 bucks in him. Well with very little training and a lot of wood time he ended up being the best dog I have ever had. He was a grade dog and I hunted him with a bunch of grnite dogs and turned down over $2000 for him many, many, times form the same guys who had the grnite dogs. I kept him until the day he died. 1 week before he died I was offered $3000 for him and turned it down. The night before he died I treed 3 coons with him. The most I have ever paid for a dog was $1000.

in 2006 bought a 1 yr old male for 1500 out of Calico Rock Arkansas and paid a extra 275 to have him delivered and he is still here with me basically a family membe. Paid 1000 for another young male a little over a year ago and have turned down 1500 for him recently.
