2014 WV State Championship - Aug 8th & 9th

Friday, August 8th, 2014
UKC Bench Show $20.00 @ 6 PM PURINA POINTS EVENT

UKC Nite Hunt: $30.00 @ 8 PM PURINA POINTS EVENT
Deadline to return scorecards: 5 AM

Saturday, August 9th, 2014
UKC Bench Show $20.00 @ 12 PM PURINA POINTS EVENT

Friday Night will be a Purina Points Event and run just like a normal UKC Hunt with your GRNITECH, NITECH, and REG Classes. Friday night will have hunting judges and guides assigned by the State Association. This round will draw out at 8 PM and have a deadline to return scorecards by 5 AM. UKC championship points will be awarded per UKC points and placement structure.

Saturday Night will be a Purina Points Event and run just like a normal UKC Hunt with your GRNITECH, NITECH, and REG Classes. Saturday night will have hunting judges and guides assigned by the State Association. This round will draw out at 8 PM and have a deadline to return scorecards by 3 AM. UKC championship points will be awarded per UKC points and placement structure.

All PLUS POINT cast winners on Friday and Saturday will be given an award for their achievement.

ONE HOUR HUNT-OFF of Top 4 Dogs hunt for State Championship Title:
Double cast winners will advance to the final four. If more than four double cast winners, then top four with highest combined final score will advance. If less, then highest single cast winners score from either night will advance.

The winner (1st Place Finisher in Final Four State Hunt-Off Cast) will be awarded a 6 foot tall trophy, a hunting light, and the title of West Virginia State Hunt Champion.

The runner up (2nd Place Finisher in Final Four State Hunt-Off Cast) will be awarded a 4 foot tall trophy, and the title of Reserve West Virginia State Hunt Champion.

NOTE: There will NO longer be an Opposite Sex Award. We will award Overall Hunt Winner and Reserve Overall Hunt Winner.

Will be after the bench show and before the nite hunt (Approximately 4 PM)
Will pick 2015 WV State CoonHunters Association event locations
All WV Coon Clubs can vote if a member of association (Clubs that aren’t members can join association the day of the event for $25)

If they didn't score points it cant be blamed on coon population ..The area has plenty we have had some dry conditions but still id say scoring coon should not be an issue in this area...

They should leave it at Milton fairgrounds just in my opinion

personal opinion on location is that it should be moved to different parts of the state. That way travel is split year to year and the good ole boy down the road gets his shot at glory as well...One of the best state hunts of all time was in Moundsville wv hasn't been back not sure they even have a club...Tyler county held the state hunt way back with success..phillipi, Milton , martinsburg , Fairmont ripley move it around and enjoy it for what it is a state championship..

We started this club back up last year, we have a couple hunts scheduled for this fall & a big coon contest. I am the president of this club & would love to have the state hunt at our club, but I'm worried about having enough guides. I think our club numbers need to get a lil better before we take a hunt on this big, plus I need to ask the surrounding clubs if they would be willing to help, so please come on up & join our club, bring some buddies come to our hunts if you can. My name is Heikki Yeager call me anytime if you have any questions or suggestions, I'm always looking for ways to better our club.

Sounds like a plan one thing for sure you have access to ohio pa and wv all within 25 mils of your club..

Up by where the state hunt is my dad went hunting up there at a place called macfarlane and he didnt tree no coons because and everyone trapping so that might be a big reason why there ain't no plus points being brought in

Bethlehem Blues I live about four miles from proctor we will have to get together and go some night right now work has me by the throat. Jordan 120 I live about 25 miles from where the state hunt was held trust me coon population is not a problem . Guiding maybe but not coon population
