Query abt my dogs listed "breed"

Hi there,

I bought an American Bully pup from Thailand 3 months back & just received its UKC registration certificate yesterday.

To my surprise the breed mentioned on the certificate is "American Pitbull Terrier" & not American Bully as i was expecting. What is the reason behind it as the Sire & the Dam of the pup are also American Bullies.

From what i remember, UKC recognized American Bullies as a breed in July 2013, so why is my dog's listed as an American pitbull terrier?

If the Sire & Dam were both registered with us as American Bullies at the time the litter was registered, then it would say American Bully for the breed on the paper you have. The Sire, Dam, and litter all have to be the same breed at the time the litter is registered.

The sire & the dam were registered as "American Pitbull Terrier" at the time of the litter.

Is there anyway i can get my pup's breed changed to American Bully now if i want to?

Yes. Once the dog turns a year of age you can submit a Breed Transfer form. This form can be downloaded from our website.
