I was a dogtra man. Last 2 I've bought are crap. Both went out just after warranty. My first 2 lasted 6 yrs or so. So now I dont know what to get either.

Thanks for the info guys. Really helpful. Not to question you smoke but is the Garmin for real junk?? Anyone else tried the Garmin? I didn't realize Garmin made a no bark collar. Anyone used the Tri Tronics?

I liked it for the first week but it might just be my dog. If he wants to bark hes gonna bark

Garmin owns tritronics

Yea I knew they owned Tri Tronics but was under the assumption that they still made separate products. Possibly not. Sounds like these guys are liking the dogtra.

I bought a brand new Tri-Tronics Bark Limiter collar and it broke in less than 9 months with very limited use. I won't ever waste my $$ on Tri-Tronics products again.

The best I've had is a Dogtra YS500.

Bark collars.......

I bought 2 dif Sport Dog bark collars, both died within 3 months of purchase, they were JUNK......!!!!
I bought a Tritronics over 2 yrs ago and has worked perfectly, I have No complaints with it.
My buddy bought a new Garmin bark collars about 6 months ago and he is very pleased with it.

Dog-Tra

up until about a year ago, I was convinced that the tri-tronics was the best-I had tried most that came out-- I was having poor results with the tri-tronics on one hound that was a bit hard headed-- bought a Dog-tra YS 500
needless to say it stopped her foolishness. I now have 4 YS-500's

by the way that one hound now just needs a little weight reminder around her neck to keep her quiet!
yesterday she treed all day on a squirrel for the man that bought her-
they learn what is right and wrong with the right one.

how is the dogtra 300? are the contacts as big-long as on the 500?

the 500 will work on even the most stubborn barkers, but the contacts are too long. I have one hound that has real soft skin or something and it'll eat holes in his neck almost instantly so I've had to keep using the Tri- Tronics on him.

I've also had good luck with the Tri-Tronics. at least until the battery dies. Seems like after I replace a battery, they never are 100%

The Garmin barklimiter deluxe I got works good.Like that I can recharge it.No matter what you buy get it from a dog supply seller that stands behind what he sells.I have bought all my electronics from the same guy for years and Everytime I've had a problem he has gave me a refund or replacement.Nice to know my hard earned money is not wasted.

ben

bought 2 at wal mart.30 bucks a piece.replacable batterrys
still work great I had had them on big loud dogs, the louder they bark the more juice goes threw.the only thing is,bad is don't put them on 2 young dogs, that are comfined in one aera.cause pups have atendtecy to chew on each others clollars and anything around lol,but can destroy the collars.
but other wise then that, they gave me no problems.

ps and they only use the battery life is when dog is active barking.batterys are like 6 bucks.and they can last 4or 5 mths continuous on the dog.if dog quits barking, just take m off and take out batterys to save the life on them.

I had a Tri-Tronics a few years ago it worked great till the battery died then it never worked right again. I've been very pleased with the dogtra bark collars.

I'm torn between the Garmin Bark Limiter and the Dogtra 500. Both are dandy collars.
