Please help.
This is what my 1 1/2 yo Bluetick did lastnight. He does these things every time we go but this was our first hunt of the year. First drop on a feeder my young blue dog opened like it was a super hot track right off and never slowed down. We dropped an older dog behind him. (Decent hound but occasionally slick trees and rarely hunts deep). The walker never opened and we picked them up 800 yards away. 2nd drop we dropped on another feeder both at the same time. Both opened real hot then my blue dog took off 500+ yards and finally returned after some hollering. Turned loose again and did the same thing while opening the whole time. 3rd drop we seen a coon in the field. Not sure what happened but I think they back tracked then the walker treed 200 yards off the spot we seen it with no meat. My blue dog ran 300 yards past him opening the whole way then returned on his own. We walked both dogs back to the spot in the field but kept the blue dog on the leash. Walker found the tree and had a kit in it. Blue dog hardly barked at the tree. Hes been tied back on the tree many times when coon have been shot out.Very frustrating night. What do you think my blue dog was doing and any advice on correcting is greatly appreciated. Thanks
In my humble opinion!!
You could try putting a caged coon in front of it and see if it even knows what a coon is... Then once it gets really excited over a caged coon let it out and see if it follows the trail and barks on the tree if it does shoot it down to it... That should give u a good idea if its going to do anything in the woods..

Yes he goes crazy over them after they're shot out and he's maybe 3 caged coon and tries to rip the cage apart. Only fought one but he was young and started getting worked over.
