R.I.P "The Under Taker"

First of all,
I'd like to say I'm sorry to my partners on this fine little dog, Charles Martin and Jeff Nelson. He was making a special little hound. Didn't care what other dogs were doing, laid back, sweet around the house, and could get through the country. He was about 1.2 miles last night when he got struck. Him and Thunder were half mile apart when Taker got struck. Worked a track for 6-700 yards and came treed. When we got there he was about 50-60 foot high in a leaning tree out over a steep hill. We never got to him before he fell. Happens to the best of them, but this young dog was starting to click the right way! Will be missed around here! R.I.P little buddy.

Gene

Wow, sorry to here that. Had one up about 15 feet one night. Managed to climb the tree and get a lead on her about the time she slipped.. I swung her like a pendulum back up hill when she fell out. Would have been about 35 ft drop if she had fell straight down. Sorry for your loss. Thats the bad thing about coon hunting. You never know when you turn one loose if thats the last time u get to.

Yeah Zach. Littermate to yours I guess? He sure was coming on. Always by himself. Hard to find that kind, but guess we'll try again at another time.

Jeff told me Saturday morning what happened. I'm real sorry to hear that. I sent the male littermate to him with Jeff and I really hope he figures why he is on the earth. He has a million dollar mouth and I hope he learns to use it for what he was bred for.

SO SORRY!

We are SO VERY SORRY for your sad loss and send prayers to all of you... It is a fine balance between life and death with hunting dogs. The passion that makes them GREAT makes them Blind to the dangers. Always a concern with a coondog when you send them out, always a concern with a greyhound when you open a door or gate, always a concern with a squirrel dog.... it goes on but they LOVE what they do and we love them for that....

Sincerely sorry, HEather and Bob
