Dog pads

What do you guys due for riffing up a dogs pads? I have a dog that after a couple days running her pads develop sores on them. I tried about everything I can think of. Just wander if any of you big game hunters have any opinion on this

Dog pads

Put blue coat an maybe some triple antibiotic ointment on it till it heals, then get some of the coppertox used for horses an keep its pads coated with that maybe a time or two a week . Make sure u wear gloves cause u can't get that stuff off it hands an it stinks.

Old remedy that has worked for years---

3 qts of used motor oil
1 qt. of turpintine
12 ozs of sulfur

mix in a gal jug--takes some time to desolve the sulfur but it works great on pads and hot spots.

Pry any of the above will help . I had a few runnin walker yote hounds over the years that had sub-par feet. Soak in bleach water. Mix, desitin, red scarlet oil n neosporin salve. I've used pine tar too. Some breeds or lines within breeds just don't have the foot others do. I'm glad to have the feet I have bout run em on glass.

What kind of flooring are your hounds on, I've always used gravel and rarely have sore feet on beagles or Coon hounds but When I do I use bag balm or pickle juice for a few days

venice turpintine for sore feet.I cull dogs that get sore feet after 3 or 4 days.Breed for tough feet and after you get the traits set into your line you will have tough dogs that can handle hard hunting.
