Please Help!!!!!!!!!!!
i have a 3 yr old walker male. i have owned him since he was 8 weeks old. he has always been a slammin tree dog and usually the first to open on track. he is all mouth on track and a very hard chop tree dog. i have mostly hunted with other dogs and also a lot by himself. last year he did outstanding. showed me a lot of coon and was very honest. showed me coon by himself and with other dogs. i just started huntin again this year to get him ready for the hunts and to get him ready for shootin season this fall. i have hunted him about 12 times already in the past month or two and he isnt the same dog. he wants to be the first one to tree and he is guessing and coming up slick treed constantly. slick after slick. even by himself he will run a good track and work it good and will half azz tree. its like he is just giving up when he is by himself. i have shocked him on the slicks with no results and i have made him leave. he will leave and run track for about 50 yards and then tree again with another slick. idk whagt to do! he was a worldbeater a year ago and now he is worthless. what do i do to fix this? no i wont shoot him or kick his guts in. i wants reasonable ways to solve this. please help!!!!!

A lot of snow this year, is the dog back in shape yet? A lot of good dogs come up a little short this time of year, with the frost coming out of the ground, tracking conditions are tough, maybe a trip to he vet and have the thyroid checked, pull some blood, there are other things that can screw up a hound,, good luck,,

Sounds to me more health related just because he has been so out of sorts, everything an upper respiratory infection, thyroid, ear infections, along with other things can cause a dog to start looking mighty bad.
#1 reason I hunt my dogs year round. When everyone else is trying to get their dogs back in shape mine are treeing coons. I made a BUNCH of people mad last year because we where treeing coons and they were not. I ALWAYS hunt my dogs at least once a week even through the hottest part of summer. I usually just do 1 drop or let them cool down and cast them again. Sometimes we wait until later on in the night or early morning until it cools off but we always hunt. Keeps the dog in shape and on track. Just my 2 cents but it works for us..
hunting year round would be awsome
but with four feet of snow on the ground that changes plans just a tad
sounds like the dog has health problems
