Do you know if Native Level 3 is a good food for our coon hounds

ITs 30/20 and rated 5 star. If you feed this how much do you feed and stool ect.

I have tried the feed Blue Buffalo and thats the most impressive feed I ever fed, half the feed, half the stool and the dogs look great. Very expensive $58 for a 30#

I fed it for a year or so a few years ago. It's great feed. It got up to around $40 a bag and I stopped feeding it. It's no better than Diamond EA or the Naturals Chicken and Rice IMO. The Diamond is easier to get for me and can get a 10% off coupon in TSC flier every month.

Save your money ; tried quite a bit of native and it was horrible feed . All my dogs dropped weight . If you don't feed the exact recommended amount your dogs will all have the sh!ts. Save your money

Imo its the best feed on the market. Been feeding the 30:20 for 2 years now and the dogs do great. Tight stool, nice coat, keep wieght on good but it is $37.00 for a 40# bag.

Never fed it. But generally speaking, if you are feeding a higher quality feed and you feed too much, most all dogs will drop weight and get the runs. This is most commonly seen when someone goes from feeding a lesser quality feed to a better quality. They are accustomed to feeding much more of the cheaper feed and they try and feed the same amount of the better quality feed. It is too much for the dog to assimilate and it will run through them. The runs will cause the dog to dehydrate and drop weight quick. On the flip side, if the dogs stool is good, dropping weight when going to a better feed is not necessarily a bad thing. Less carbs and less filler equals less water retention. Unnecessary water retention virtually guarantees your dog will run hot quicker and stay hot longer due too much more water in the muscles. Optimum hydration is much easier to achieve with a better quality feed because the dog doesn't require as much water for digestion or water retention. It is a vicious cycle! The common denominator however, is always a higher quality feed. You can't go wrong at all feeding the best that you can. Sacrificing to a cheaper feed because you think it works is almost never a good idea. Enter one less hunt, buy one less case of beer or do something else to save a few bucks. Don't take it out on your dogs by giving them cheaper feed.

Sorry but when feeding the recommended amount and they drop weight and you up the feed by 1/2 a cup to a cup a day and they get the runs ... Nothing high quality about Native IMO . Only a high price . I feed extreme Athlete and IMO it's the best feed on the market for the price . Little cleanup , no over heating . Slick coats tons of muscle; your dogs always maintain the muscle also . I've fed everything from Native , pro plan , victor and even Taste of the Wild on a dog . I always go back to diamond EA every single time. I won't change again

Now, I had exactly what you're explained, but with the EA, in my opinion, it ranks down there with ol Roy...

In my opinion, native is too expensive but is a good feed. my dogs had good stools, and less of them, looked great and never overheated and one was almost all black with a double coat. I would have kept feeding it but I couldn't afford it

That is why I said "generally speaking". EA is what I feed as well, tried it when it came out and have never bought anything else since. I supplement around its deficiencies and it works.

Feed

Never liked the diamond ea I prefer the diamond green bag premium adult. IMO it's ten times better the the ea. Dogs looked really good on ea when hunted lightly but it tells on itself when Ur really put it to em.

Native.......

I fed it for several months, just could not see the hype about it........

Purina ALL the way, have tried everything that is available and keep going back to Purina, their cheapest ( Dog Chow ) is better than most others and nothing compares to Pro Plan Performance .......!!!!

Thank you all very much for comments. CSnowgren that seems very very good logic. The Blue Life Protection Formula just blew me away at the cost $58 for a 30# but I feed half the feed and the dogs look great. I am going with Native cause I am able to get it close to home. Besides quality for my dogs, Convience and Cost are the 2 most important things to me when it comes to dog feed.

I fed it for a couple years and every time i bought it the price went up......i feed 4health now and it seems good.

The best feed on the market!!!!! If you're not careful you will have your dog hog fat and I've never had any problems with runny stool!!! Always hard as a rock and very very small amounts. I've fed just about all of them out there and there are only a couple of feeds that come close to the quality!!!

I think it might be a best hidden secret. My dogs are doing great, solid stools, looks good and no issues yet.
