Results of Northern Indiana Hunting Beagle Club Hunt
The March 29, 2014 hunt consisted of 26 dogs. We had good running, and all casts came back with plus points. The highest score was 766 points by Tough Tina.
We had 4 grands; 6 champions; and 16 registered.
The Grand winner was Swampland's Tough Tina owned and handled by Wayne Herbert.
The Champion Winner was Black Cat Fire owned and handled by Nate Butler.
Registered: 1st place: Nissley's Sadie owned and handled by Ben Nissley.
2nd place: Small Town Red May owned and handled by Myron Yoder.
3rd place: Luck of the Irish Bulls Eye owned and handled by Norm Johnson.
4th place: Buck Lake Bella Luna owned and handled by Atlee Lambright.
Congratulations to Ben, Myron, and Atlee as their dogs were championed out today! (at poor bullseye's expense! LOL)
Congrats everyone who placed

I drew out with Wayne Herbert, (Redbone) Eric Yant and Mike Hulce in the Grand Cast. We had great running where it came down to being very close between Hulce's Bo Schembechler and Herbert's Tough Tina. 13.5 points was the difference. Both very nice dogs that did a great job. Three-lined two different rabbits. Fun cast with some good guys!
Congrats to Atlee, Myron, Ben, Wayne and Butler on their wins.
I handled Bella for Atlee at NHBA Days. She had already slowed down significantly due to an accidental breeding that stuck. Atlee called me earlier this week (he's kind of a newbie) wanting my opinion of putting Bella in this hunt because of her being a little puffed up right now and not knowing what the guys might think about it. I told him it's not going to kill her and it's not a bad thing to run pregnant bitches. Matter of fact, it's a good thing so long as you don't over do it. Turns out he won his cast in the morning and made the Winners Pack. All he needed was a fourth or better to finish her to Champion. She took fourth and he was a happy, happy camper! Nicely done bud.
That was Saturday. Yesterday (Monday) he called me to say he got home from work and Bella had her litter of pups. You talk about a guy who is stoked and hooked!
Those that know Atlee know that he likes to run. The guy will run 10-15 miles in the morning before coming to the hunt! He's qualified and entered in the Boston Marathon for the second year in a row.
Wishing Atlee the best of luck in the upcoming Boston Marathon AND raising his first litter of pups out of his Champion Bella!
Thanks to the Northern Indiana boys for a great hunt. It was a lot of fun and great to see so many young faces at a trial. Congrats to all the winners!
