The Comeback Kid!

Doug Moore worked with Ky Moonlight Breanna as a young dog and he has a nick name for her....he calls her his Wild Child...lol
But 6 weeks after having her entire left hip socket and ball removed due to a bone cyste and a serious bone infection....I am happy to report that Breanna is back in the woods and doing what she loves, and I have started calling her the comeback kid Here is a little video of her first drop last night after I got off work. Her recovery has been a blessing and better than I had ever though possible. Thanks everyone for all the words of support and encouragement.....shane

This was her 3rd and final tree last night before I put her up and went to work with her pup,Cherry Bomb. I think she would have preferred to keep hunting...but I don't want to over do it with that leg.

Thanks, Bree does seem about as happy as I have ever seen her. She loves to hunt and I am so glad that it looks like she will be able to continue doing that.

Thanks for the videos it was like we all got to go on the hunt with you. Bree did a great job and is a beautiful treedog. I also hunted with Billy when Roy had him and Timber Girl when Jack had her. They each lived about 45 miles from me. They were both really good hounds. Looks like Bree is too. It is great to see you are both doing so well. Keep it up!

Oh my goodness Mr Farr, is there a famous old dog that you haven't hunted with? Shane, it looks/sounds like she might be ready for next Fri.

Good to see you on the board Rob. Sometimes I feel like I am the only guy on here that remembers old Billy and Timber Girl. They sure were special to me and were two of the best dogs I ever walked behind when they were in their prime. Everything I hunt today goes back the them and their mother. I am really enjoying the dogs I have right now and I am glad that you and others enjoy the videos. I would give anything to have a couple good videos of Billy and Girl and Jesse. I guess that why I try to get video on every good redbone I can and store it in my photo bucket account so that 20 years from now I can have video of dogs that are no longer alive so that people can see and hear the dogs that their redbones go back to.
Pictures are nice, but a video is the next best thing to being there

Nice!

More Nice Videos! Bob just had a blast listening with me... We BOTH Love that you film just about the whole hunts! We haven't been out in the woods in YEARS... so we get out with you guys on here...and often people JUST video the tree part. Bob and I are LOVING walking TO the trees with you so much. Makes us wish we were right there with you. We hope some day we can get to the real woods. Not sure my health will let us... but we'll try again... and I think we'd both love to see a good red female tree again.. for ME the ONLY dawg I saw tree was a lil red dawg, Sheba... long time ago in the MA woods...now all houses! Bob hunted her too but we never hunted together. In our adult life we went out once but the woods were DEAD...LOL... so we didn't hear a PEEP in those NH woods.... luck of the draw I guess... Bob was amazed to see how well you guys are doing since the injuries and surgeries etc... I have told him about it before but tonight he put 2 and 2 together as we watched.
Keep HAVING FUN! Happyhunting, Heather and Bob

Thanks Heather,
I hunt alone most of the time and because I work second shift its usually between midnight and daylight when everyone else has headed home for the night. Maybe that's why I feel such a close connection to my dogs. Its just me and them out there and I guess that's why I like to make videos of them....so I can show others the dogs I am proud of. Just about the only time anyone else ever sees them is in competition and while a hunt is playing out....most people are too busy paying attention to their own dog to really see mine for what they are. I could not be happier with the dogs I have right now. I think Bree is one of the best and I have a few others that may be even better at some point. My dogs and love for hunting and competing is what got my up and back in the woods after my last surgery. I still feel pain...every day...but when I hear a dog strike a good track or locate a tree and roll it over right....well that's the best pain medicine there is It is harder on both Bree and myself after our injuries...but we both got a lot of gid-e-up left and some goals we still have to reach. I am glad you like the videos and I will try to post more when I can. Some day people with pups or grand pups out of my females might like to go back and see and hear for themselves what their dogs go back to instead of taking someones's word for it. I would give anything to have a video of Billy the Kid, Outlaw Timber Girl, or Outlaw Jessie so that people could see and hear what I heard so many times when they were alive and in their prime....

Cool Shane!

Back when I was a Horse person we didn't have the video stuff to begin with. Shortly before I had a career ending injury we did...LOL... Go figure! I DO have a few fun videos to watch of myself riding but it kinda makes me sad still... but I KNOW my kids and grandkids can look back at my crazy life...and see how Bob and I met at horse camp in the 70s, where we first met coonhounds We have some fun video of our silly coondhound pets we've had in this life... and those sure live on! Not quite teh coondawg variety but fun none the less...lol...
Breeding wise.. Man I wish I had had this technology for the horses...WOW.... LUCKY for the breeder these days. I am amazed to see how people can now look at how a horse moves and performs BEFORE breeding etc... Just like you lucky dawg folks now can!
Bob isn't easily impressed but he was impressed watching these videos. Most of the time I send links to work and he sees them there so we don't get to talk about them... To see a nice red dawg or two... made us recall the old days...the chills you get when you hear those dawgs out there... Pretty cool stuff!
Hope your days out there with your nice dawgs continue to get better and better. I know that the back surgery stuff has improved SO MANY lives! Some of my old students and instructors still ride and ride with those metal parts...LOL.. Got one former student with 2 new hips AND spinal work... who still rides! (I can't ride cause I kinda wrecked my brain as well as my neck... Not great for bouncing around on a BIG dangerous animule... )
OK.. enough of my wordiness... but I have SO enjoyed your comeback and sharing it tonight WITH my hubby meant the world to me!
HAPPYHUNTING! Heather
