Garmin Update Problems, Help Please
I just installed Garmin Basecamp on a brand new computer. Trying to update an Astro 320, two DC40 collars, and a DC20 collar. When I plug the Astro in with the USB cord, the basecamp program recognizes the 320, and the two DC40's. It shows me a new software version that's available, then when I hit Next, it takes it several minutes to download the update. After all that, it says "Update File is Corrupt" and it aborts the update.
Any ideas what I could be doing wrong? Any ideas why it doesn't recognize the DC20?
Thanks in advance.

Couple things. I think it is just a terminology thing but Base Camp has nothing to do with upgrading your systems. Base Camp is a mapping program. I think you just made a mistake and should of said Web Updater.
Is this a MAC or Windows computer?
You can update the astro with web updater but you can update your collars with the 320 not being hooded up to the computer.
As far as the DC20 I think there are no updates for it and Garmin has phased out just about everything to do with that model collar.

Any more ideas on this before I contact Garmin?
Thanks.
I wouldn't have a clue man. I know it needs updated because they have released a few updates for the 320 in the last couple of months. You can update the collars from the hand held unless you are using dc 50's. The 50's have to be hooked up to the computer and updated through the web updater like the handheld. To update dc 30 and 40's turn the collars on let the handheld pick them up press dog then go to the collar you want to update and press enter when it brings up the dog info such a battery charge and signal strength press menu all the way at the bottom it should say update collar or update dog unit go to it and press enter and it will tell you if its up to date or not. If it needs updated it will tell you and tell it yes and it will update it. But I would update the handheld first so it has all the latest updates before doing the collars. Try hooking it up and telling it to find device on the web updater would be about the only thing I would know to try. I have updated the 220's and 320's and never had a problem like yours.

Just a follow up. I talked with the nice folks at Garmin about my issue. They sent me an email with the new software update. Rather than going through the web updater, I downloaded the email, and copied the file directly to my 320. The upgrade worked, thanks to Garmin for their excellent customer service.
I think the original problem could have been my error. When I plugged the handheld in with the USB cable, a prompt comes up on the handheld screen asking to allow "base station mode", at first I selected "Yes". I think that was the wrong move, now I remember when I updated a year or so ago, I think I had to select "NO" to base station mode to complete the update.
