hunt question

In a hunt last night .3 dog cast 17 mins. left in the hunt last drop .cut dogs out dog 1 2 and 3 dog one and 2 went up a hill and opened on track . dog one went to the right .dog 2 to the left .7 mins. left dog 2 about 400yr out running track. dog one could not be herd one min. left handler 1 trees his dog and points in the direction his dog was last hear .and said i herd him that way . hunt is over walking up the hill to treed dog .dog 2 trees500 yards to the left .we get to the top of the hill you can hear dog one treed about 600 yards out and about 2oo yards left from handler said he heard the dog .we get to dog one about 25 min. later .and shined the tree for 11 min. and found the coon .ok plus points .walked back to dog 2 hunt is over and coon is sen. MY QUESTION IS AFTER HUNT IS OVER .how long do you have to get to treed dog and to shin the tree. THANK YOU ......... the 10 min. on the tree was over and no one else hear his dog barking pitched is a good word for this
the judge said if a man said he hear his dog he hear it.wen we got to the top of the hill about 150 yards of walking .we could all hear his dog but barely could. the 2 dog did not get plus the hunt was over wen he treed the 10 min. tree time is that the right call

Along as it takes to safely get there along as the dog was trees before hunt time was over you have to score it !! But shine time is 10 min not 11 so if the coon wasn't found until after the 10 min shine time it doesn't count falls under bad break!! Sounds to me like you are saying he pitched his dog??? Did he pitch him or was he actually heard?? But to answer just your question if dogs are treed before hunt time is over they need to be scored !!!

The question is a little difficult to understand but it sounds to me like dog 2 treed after the hunt was over.

first off

I don't know how a judge can accept a call of a dog treed if he and the other handlers can't hear the dog called treed, also what about putting 2 minutes on him. just some of my questions. the dog that was found treed after the time is up gets deleted I think

I was on a cast last night were all dogs got out of hearing. We had a hunting judge and we walked and walked. It was a pkc hunt so no garmins the wind was blowing probably 20 mph and all of a sudden the judge strikes his dog and we all looked at each other like what? My question is who has to hear the dog in this situation? The hunt time expired and we got the garmins out and his dog was treed with mine 1.18 miles. No way in hell he heard that dog with the wind in our face.

I think he is saying guy pitched his dog treed, they couldn't hear it till they got to top of hill.

Dog treed before hunt is over...

This dogs tree is scored no matter how long it takes...As for a handler treeing his dog at the end of the hunt...If I am the judge I will not take his tree call unless one other cast member can here it also, and then after a few minutes walk or a climb to the top of a hill I better hear his dog or I will minus his tree call...

I guess it comes down to wheather or not he was right? When a guy strikes a dog like that just ask what direction. The judge is supposed to hear the dog to accept the call, if its his dog and you believe he is just pitchin, question it. If a cast vote overturns his call those strike points are minus.
I treed my dog in a hunt last year at 1.3 miles and the whole cast could hear him.

i would say that is the right call not tacking his tree call.the dog was 150 yards off the call

First........Judge could take the tree call and start the two if he can not hear the dog. He can walk in the direction of the tree call and stop a few times and listen for the dog. If the two expires and he can hear the dog then minus him. I think the judge should always be able to hear the dog before he takes the tree call.

Two.......If the judge takes the tree call and the dog is treed and time is out then you take as long as needed to get to the dog so the tree can be scored.

Third.....You can only use ten minutes to shine the tree. If the coon is seen after the ten is up then it don't matter, the shine time is over.

Dog two's tree is not scored because it was treed after the hunt time was up.
