dog hurt

My 9 month old pup treed its first coon solo lastnight. The tree had old fence growed n it & pup got a piece stuck all the way through his front leg whats best to treat this injury.. i gave him antibiotic shot & putting iodine on it as well any body got any experience with treating something like this

With a puncture wound leave it open and keep it clean.
Don't bandage it like you would a cut.
