Breeding Question
When most of you look to breed you female, do you look for specific blood lines or do you look for a coondog?Reason for asking is im thinking about breeding my female out of Hardwood Dreamer to my male out of 100 proof Doc,both are coondogs.just wanted some opinions thanks

Your best bet is if your female is a awsome coon dog that carries 90 % of the traits your looking for mouth, hunt desire, heart accuracy ,kennel manners etc,,,,, than find a dog that has the same traits that your looking for and that your female has that is as good as your female are a little better !!! And breed them!! And don't worry about what the papers say!!! But if your female doesn't carry these traits at that high of percentages then find a female you like that does and get a pup off her!! If you raise pups rite and pay them up and shots etc,,,, it's def not going to make any money at it and it's a lot of time !!! And money that you will be lucky if you break even not considering all the things that can go wrong in which you might lose her and the pups and a lot of money!!! Good luck with your decision and if you decide to raise pups off your female but between the two zeb throws the coon dogs that are required for my part of the country in thin coon thick junk and rough hunting !!!jmo
