Mr. Hicks----
did look into what we were talking about this morning---mating is usually Jan/ Feb but can go up to June. So with what I have NOT seen this winter would guess we are going to have late litters here this spring/summer with small ones next fall like you have seen in past years.

did find a track this morning, -13 with -37 wind chill so that was one frisky boy moving last night. Looks like he's den under an old railroad boxcar that's in the woods. Hope he found what he was looking for??
Did get some good training in on a young yote hound this morning. Had 13 deer run across a pond in front of us. He got a little excited so we had a little "Jesus" talk (all I do is tell him NO). On our way back to the truck had 2 more jump out of the cattails and cross in front of us and he paid them no attention. He seems to have it all, nose-drive-mouth-grit and today he show me he's got some gray matter between his ears also.
Two things I love about working with hounds (coon/coyote), watching a pup open on track and than doing it right at the end of the trail--be it treeing or baying/fighting on a catch.
