cops with ccw

i'm not a fan of cops even though i spent 21 years in the dept of justice. it seems that so many of them are bullies and seek confrontations so that they can do so. of course there are good cops too. we hear stories all the time about cops shooting people for little cause, even though it may be legal. look at this case of a cop shooting a guy for throwing popcorn at him in a theater. he had no business pulling his gun unless his life was clearly in danger. this guy should have known better.

This is a case of a man going to far, not a cop. But being a Police Officer is a low paying thankless job. You deal with scum all day, everyone lies to you about everything, or has some excuse. Some would like to kill you and plenty of others wish you were dead, just cause of what you do for a living. My dad and grandpa were both officers. I cannt tell you how many times I seen my dad come home from work with a black eye or some injury from getting into a scuffle. The news never reports anything good, if fact this story wouldn't have made the news if a cop wasn't involved. Most ain't man enuff to walk in a cops shoes, it would hurt their feet.

He is a retired cop, he is 71 yrs old. Unbelievable......

NEVER interact with the police if you can help it.
If you think they are going to "protect and serve" you are very wrong.
If you think they are going to follow the law and respect your rights you are in for a surprise.
I dont know if the guy in the theater deserved a bullet or not but i have seen otherwise good people do bad things when given a badge and uniform, and that bully mentality doesnt just dissapear when they retire.

whatever made him pull his gun will not satisfy the jury. he'll be found guilty and sent to prison. he'll spend everything to stay out of prison and still go and his poor wife will suffer the rest of her life. he's done. of yea, and then there's that little thing with the civil suit.

I've spent a lifetime in law enforcement (I'm in my 32 year) and I can't wait to retire. I lose my benefits when I retire and have to wait another year and a half for my military benefits to kick in so that I know I have benefits for a wife that fought cancer. It disgusts me when I am judged with people like this and by people like this. I have been involved in shootings (I've loaded two brothers in arms in ambulances thinking I would not see them alive again), been rammed broad side by a nut hell bent to hurt someone, involved in an incident that I thought a man was coming out of a vehicle to shoot me with a shotgun only to watch helplessly while he pulled the trigger with the shotgun under his chin, broken bones making arrests and seen too many little young sad faces. When asked why I went into law enforcement my answer has always been...I just hoped to make a small difference in someone's life. Before you go saying, "Well, you're the exception not the rule" I know too many fine men and women that are or were in it for the same reason. When the radio barked that someone needs help we don't stop to ask or question....we answer the call. I can honestly say the job has soured me. I have gotten to the point that I don't like or trust people. I will be the first to admit that there is a cancer in "my" career field. BUT, there are still good people in law enforcement that do not deserve this form of prejudice. Judgment like this leads me to believe that you suffer from some other form of prejudice, dislike for blacks, the Jewish, Italians, Irish, Catholics...you get my point. No one ever wants to wish their life away, but, I pray the next year and a half go quickly.

This poor families experience isnt as rare as you might think, peoples 2nd and 4th amendment rights are trampled on every day by law enforcement. To many americans have become like sheep and they comply with requests that allow these abuses to continue. When approached by a cop the only thing that should come out of your mouth is... Officer what crime do you suspect me of commiting and am i being detained. Let them know that you dont consent to a search and would like to be on your way. As shown in the case above any conversation you have with them will be used to provide probable cause for an illegal search or detainment.
Its a dirty shame when we cant trust law enforcement but its the world we live in. READ THE CONSTITUTION, know your rights, exercise them or they will be lost.
Law enforcement is under no obligation to be honest with you about your rights, they can and will lie to you.

My appologies to Randy and any other honest member of law enforcement, but I believe they are getting fewer and further in between, at least in my neck of the woods. We have cops that would rather harass drinking high schoolers then bust kids that are frequently wrecking public and private property, buying and/or selling drugs, and stealing. Couple of years ago, a friend and I were nearly shot by some people that were poaching deer, called the game warden and left multiple messages. None were returned. Now he sits on gravel roads with his pickup lights off trying to chase spot lighters with NVG's. I got t-boned two months ago in about the most dangerous intersection in town. It took 15 minutes for the cops to show up, and we were about four blocks from the station. The officer that took my information lost my name, number, and insurance information.

I have no use for any of them. A good local vigilante group would do more good.

i doubt local vigilanty groups would do any better. it's the nature of fallen man to be corroupt. and it's going to get worse as the culture and sociaty moves away from the bible.
