I owned a direct son of rock river banjo and his dam was out of 1979 ukc world ckampion sugar creek rip. His name was nite ch. Gamble's Surefine Laser, he weighed 50 pounds and was the fastest track hound i ever owned. Laser caught more coon on the ground than all the other hounds i ever owned. He also had the largest bawl mouth for a hound his size you have ever heard, you would think he was a 80 pound hound. He had a screaming bawl locate and was 120 bark per minute tree dog. Laser won his cast both friday and saturday nights at the Alabama state coonhunt in 1986 placing 9th and 4th. Laser also placed in top 40 ACHA world hunt the following year in Mississippi. I also owned a son off Laser and a House's Clint female that placed second at the Ala. State Hall of fame hunt. His name was Gamble's Shurfine Hoop and he was one of the best i ever owned. Along this time period i also hunted with another son of Rock River Banjo named Forrest Wood Dan later owned by Archie Dore. He was also an outstanding coonhound.
I bred GR NITE CH Gladds Leading Lady to Banjo and had a male pup from that cross I co-owned with Timothy Ball. His name was Nite CH GR CH Ball & Wells OK Tornado and his kennel name was Okie. Get deep and get struck. Really good about having his coon. His bad points was he opened way too much on the ground, was chop mouth both ways and you couldn't guarantee him to stay treed with other dogs running. He might stay hooked nine out of ten, but that one time he would pull would drive me nuts. I could have placed him in a few world hunts if he'd been a pressure tree dog.

Banjo's mom I believe was a half bro-/half sister cross with both of them being off World CH. Crowding Billy. That mean when you bred to him you got 3 world champions in one shot.
Got a stud that goes back to him a couple times but not as close as you guys.
Glad you're willing to put it into play at some time.

We have semen from a Rock River Banjo son here in Ohio.
Snakehollow Kennels
We bred a female to him once
We had a female we got out of Michigan named Rock River Annie she was little world champion back in the 80’s, Banjo was a fine looking hound, he was just stud dog when I got to see him and he had quiet a mouth on him, never got to hunt with him but them pups out of him and Annie sure was nice, they started easily, and all had good mouths, my only fault was back then coon was scarce in our part of the country and Annie was a get er done female that would not stop or come back you had to pull off a tree, sure would have loved to had a farming back then. But a few of the pups took after her in that aspect and if you weren’t in good coon population they would get out of hearing distance quick. I remember a pup I had out of Annie called Rock River Rowdy, he was wide open too, I ended up letting him go and last I heard he placed 16th in world hunt 2 years later. Lord them old dogs sure did add to the dogs we got now days, I think it’s over looked a lot of times where the real blood come from due to looking at 4 gen registry.
