What are your thoughts on the #3 making a return?
I was/am a huge Dale Earnhart fan and I am glad to see the #3 returning to the track in the cup series.

Well the number was Dillons grandpa's number before it was Earnharts. You are correct though those were a HUGE set of shoes left to fill and I haven't seen anyone step up to the plate in 12+ yrs to be the drivers voice.

this is true , but also nascar owns the right to market any number or team , etc. within their sport . childress was told by nascar that if a good market from another team came along and wanted the # 3 that they would pull it from childress . that's why he went to dale jr and asked if he cared and he said no and thought this was a good fit and the 3 needed to stay within rcr . this was reported from nascar.com
