hide prices

i heard prices are going to be up this year. anybody sold any yet or know what the prices are going to be. im located in northwest ohio.

prices for green fur have dropped as of last week. top coon went from 40.00 down to 28.00. but with this cold weather i'm betting the price will go back up.

Prices

Northern Fur brings more it always does!

I am hearing the prices are dropping down to below 20 for a xxxl and 12 to 15 for anything under. and small and mediums will be any where from 1 to 8.

Furs are bought and sold on predictions! When demand is high the price will be too. When the quota drops so will the price.

Ya get a fur market that supposedly has turned the corner and the few fur buyers ya have, pay enough to get every Tom Dick and Harry picking the junk fur up off the road etc.
Then ya get 4 weeks after a good killing frost where the furs are all in superior shape and they come up with the ole "the markets backing up" or "ya waited too long to sell." There aint such a thing as waiting too long to sell a XXL or XL hide in prime shape......never was , never will be. But there aaint alot of leverage unless ya wanna do the xtra work in puttin the fur up.
Same thing happened around Dec 15 2012.

yep same BS every year,just before Christmas prices always drop cuz they no your gonna sell for extra money for Christmas.then after Christmas prices will go back up .

Just heard that $22.00 will be tops here in mid Mo.

Just sold 14 coon one 5x $35 three 4x $30 pretty good i thought.

sold mine sat. averaged $15 a hide,high was $17 low was $8

My son has been turning them back loose due to our local hide buyer keeps jacking people around on prices. He says he would rather catch them again then to get nothing. Buyer only wants to give 12 for big coon and 6-8 for average size. My sons 10 yrs old. He's caught right at 37 and haven't killed one.

16 high, 6 low, had to sleep with one one open all night, gave the money to my wife in the morning. HA!
Still hate to carry them out, hard on my back.
