Used Garmin or new SportDog TEK

I in the market for a tracking system. I have been looking for a used Garmin. But I also see that I can get a new SportDog TEK for just a few more dollars. I tried to find some information on the SportDog system, but can't find much.

Anyone have any experience with the SportDog? Should I just get a used Garmin somewhere?

Does the SportDog have a pinpoint option so I can mark my truck?

Yes, but it has NO MAPS at all. Meaning when hunting new areas you will not see roads, creeks, and other landmarks.

Does the Garmin 220 show roads, creeks, and other landmarks?

Used both. Garmin is your better choice.

I have had both

I really liked the tek better for keeping communication with the dogs. but I went back to garmin because of the maps if sportdog gets some kinda map I would buy another one

Yes, you have to purchase a mapcard for it, most sellers supply them and if you are buying used it likely already has one. If not or if the mapcard in the used model is from a different region of states you can get one for $20.
Map ability is the biggest benefit of Garmin over the Tek.
