Tonight's Hunt.

One drop, One strike, One tree, One Shot and One coon. Was the first time I carried my pistol coon hunting.

He will be 7 on Saturday. I don't know where the last couple of years have gone. I still remember the first time he treed and still know the tree, I also remember having him at SETWD's when he was just 4 months old and everyone that saw him tried to buy him.

Clyde, last night was the first time I had carried it. I shot once and down he came. I did have my rifle with me as well because I'm not sure I could hit one if he was at the top of a tall tree. After a few more hunts I may feel comfortable with it to leave the rifle at home. I did use it a few times last year squirrel hunting and killed my limit with it a few times. I want to put a real scope on it just haven't decided what to get yet.

He's wearing a DC50 and a TT10 collar, The DC50 because I don't have the Birdseye View on the Alpha and the !!10 collar because some times he likes to think he is boss and can go the way he wants to go and not the way I want to go.

Tonight's hunt didn't go as good. First track he worked across a cornfield thenturned it and headed back towards where he struck and slammed a tree in a fence row. It was a cedar tree and I couldn't get it to look. Second track was a cold feeder track he ended up treed in a big oak tree. May or may not have been there but I didn't see eyes. Third track he did something I've only seen him do once before.... He swam the river and slammed a tree. Let me tell you that water is cold!! Once I got to him he was treed on a den tree. Not what I wanted after having to wade that river after dark.

What is it about all this that would make a perfectly dry man Step into a cold wet river and wade neck deep to a big headed old hound standing belly up on and old Den treed oak in the middle of the night lol is that not Crazy
