I used 1/2 inch plywood and framed it with 2x2's. The doors are made out of scrap aluminum I bought from a local metal shop. The key to it lasting is good paint.

Ok thanks..What are the dimensions of it? What kind of paint did you use one it? Also is the aluminum trim riveted or screwed in? Do you have any pictures of the sides?

I don't have any side pictures but I can get you some tomorrow. The trim is screwed on. The trim on the edges is just stair trim that I bought in the flooring dept. at lowes.

My friend has one that is totally welded. No screws or bolts or rivets whatsoever except the doors. I will try to get a picture. Its probably about 30 years old.

Those are some good looking countryboy dog boxes !!

Posted by jha on 11-06-2013 02:20 AM:

my dogs are on the large side so I opted for a rig style box with taller doors.
