Can you hunt national forest in VA right now?

Thinking about going to bath co ,va just going to see if you could still hunt the national forest with the government shut down??

Just talked to a lady at the Richmond office who said to their knowledge national forest land is not closed in va. I hope she knows what she's talking about because I plan in hunting national forest this week. All the gates in augusta co that are normally open this time of year are still open. I just squirrel hunted on national forest where the gate was open the other day. The way I see it is I paid for my national forest stamp.

National Forest is open for hunting hiking and primitive camping all places were you pay a fee camping parking etc are closed

Which makes me wonder why the shooting range and the parking around pandas pond is closed you do pay at either place but they have put up barricades Its like yalls President wants to shove it in your face I can do whatever I want and y'all cannot do anything about it

Wonder what the barricades cost were they bought or rented how much man power did it cost to put them up there certainly seems to be a lot of them and how did they get them all there and put up that fast kinda makes me wonder

I'm camping in national forest and there's a few coons out where I'm at if u wanna coe to where I'm at and have ur dogs chase them away or kill em lol ill be here all week on rt 42 keeping it primative lol...oh yeah btw f the government and there shut down

Lol I wish I was hunting someone stole my dog at the begaining of chase season...but I'm out at the bull rope at the walton tract seen a few coons down that way where I'm campin at nice feilds surrounded by woodline and some good hunting as well.

idk about there but here in bedford it dont open until kill season come in (oct 15th) and goes out when kill season does

U know where millboro is....is right near there and its all national forest... its right at the end of 42 pretty much its like a 4 niles max from the end of 42 fromm there its good hunting for coon bear and deer...I've run dogs though there when I have them real good for training young dogs for sure....its between clifton forge and millboro though well before u go over the mountian to get into hot springs towards the homestead... if u wanna give it run on my side of the mountian I can take to a whole bunch of places out this way I like to hunt and open u up to a few new places to try out too as well....just let e know ill be glad to guide you to a few places out this way like I said I'm camping for the next few weeks to get away from society and ebjoy the outdoors while I can before it gets to cold.

Actually I will be out that way if u don't mind u think I could tag along wit h my new pup I got outta littlen ann he's a 10 month old english buetiful dog and well mannered only thing is that imma need to use a tracking syste mine won't work anymore....it was an old hand me down...call e sommetime tomorrow mourning or evening....ill be around I'm still camping but I'm training my dog as well he's doin very well he's super smart
