anyone used sport dog no bark collars

Yeah just purchased sport dog no bark collar. Was wandering how well they worked and some input on how other people used them. I have some pups doing alot of unwanted barking in kennel. What I was wanting to do was put the collar on the dog for a couple days before turning it on. Then turn the collar on . with hopes they want just quit barking when the collar is on and start barking as soon as collar is removed.. I ve seen this on many dogs they have to have collar on in order to stop unwanted barking in kennel, dog box ,etc.. They learn collar is doing it. I call it collar smart. I ve never owned bark collars. If im introducing a dog to a e-collar I let the dog wear it for a few days before ever applying any type of stimulation to the dog. Then through my experience the dog dont get use to the collar or collar smart. Just wandering if I could do the same with the bark collar.

a good switchin is cheaper than buying bark collars i ran shock collars on my beagles didn't really need them but start putting them on when they was 6 months old when my 1 gyp see me come out with the collar she knew she was going hunting yes they can get collar smart

I have one, works well but they know when its not on.

Sport dog

I have two of them I just bought not long ago. They work purdy well. Mine has a progressive setting were the more they keep barking the higher it turns the juice up. If they stop barking for 3 minutes it resets its self back to 1 and starts over.
All in all I like it, but I got a big ole houndy pup here that has proven stubborn as they come. Over a month with it on him and he still barks all the time. It will shock him, then he yelps, it shocks him again, he follows up with another bark, shock, yelp, shock........I'm thinking about putting both of them on him at the same time. It's rechargeable, and lasts a long time.

Do not put the collar on if your pups are still kenneled together they will chew them off each other.

I have 2 of them as well as some Innotek no bark collars. my older dogs are collar broke and will keep quiet with them on, live or not. one male will test it and if it doesnt shock him, then its on. another male will stay quiet most of the time, but will bark thru them. he sounds like a banshee when he does. Ive tried the switching too. maybe not using the right kind but that has limited results.

no bark collars

What's worked for me is just a regular shock collar. While they are wearing it sometimes I let them bark...other times I don't. I yell no from the house and instantly give them a little bump. It isn't long before I don't have to bump them anymore. They learn that No means shut up.

A no bark collar will solve the problem for most.But for pups around 8/12 weeks I have learned to just grab them and put a switch on them and at the same time use the... no or hush command... or whatever you decide to yell to make them stop unwanted barking later in life.You will be surprised that our coondog pups can learn real eary just as the retrievers/labs can but most folks are scared and reluctant to... over do it...My method works for me and before u know it you have taught a pup 2 be quiet and the NO command with a few lessonson Some pups come along that are head strong and for those I will build a fire under them and nip it in the bud in a hurry.......Most problems with barking dog is THE MAN IN THE HOUSE

If there pups they probably need more exercise, its hard on pups to penned up all day long, and not being hunted. The excessive barking is usually a sign of pent up energy. Dogs that are kenneled with out outlets, will develop bad habits, chewing,barking, circling etc etc. Bark collars are good for curbing barking, but they are only treating the symptom.

If you have the Sport Dog No Bark 10R and only put it on one dog in the pen be careful. These are also noise activated, the dog wearing it will get zapped every time the dog beside him barks. My dog wears it all the time in the kennel, it's not tight and it doesn't have to be turned on anymore. Just the weight and the smell keep my dog quiet.

I have used the sport dog bark collars and they didn't last very long for me. If the dog scratches it the button breaks off. I like the tri tronics bark limiter a lot better. No buttons to break off. The new garmin bark collar is ok but I still like the tri tronics the best. I wouldn't use them on a pup no less than six months old. I also like to let the dog wear it a few days before I turn them on. Some dogs learn its the collar and some don't.

In my opinion they are as close to pure junk as you can buy, especially the ones with round replaceable batteries.

Go with Dogtra YS500 very nice collars.
