Winter Classic

So is it worth the trip?
How is the hunting?

Which hotel is the preferred place to stay?

My goal is to hunt all the bigs ones at least once so I need to hit this one while its close

I live near the area. I have not hunted in it, but I do plan to hunt in it this year. I hunt around the whole north MS area all year and we have some pretty good hunting up here. Especially over in the upper sardis WMA. As far as hotels, I have no clue because I live decently close, but yet again we have some pretty good hunting.

If you want to breathe a little and want the full affect of the trip rent a cabin at one of the state pArks. Google Mississippi Department of Wildlife Fisheries and Parks. Rates are very reasonable and you can bring the whole gang.

Billy,

I've hunted that area twice now and have got in good hunting both times. Last year I went out with Ronnie Stark from around there on Wednesday night. He had some nice hunting on some sort of state or Army Corps ground I think. Had a real good time and treed some coon.

Couple years ago I went to a B&T fellowship hunt in Arkansas and I went with a group over to Randy Smith's right on the Mississippi River. He has some great hunting.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn and it was really nice. There are several other hotels at that exit but I don't know which ones are the best. I've also heard, like Jay said, the cabins are nice. Would be a good family vacation.

Family isn't going due to school & sports.
Is it safe to assume hotels are per friendly unless listed

No u r better off not to assume that even if listed. Best call ur choice hotels and ask directly.
Good ole bait & switch tactic I have found.

Paul

I wasn't sure if that was you or your brother that went over to Randy's with me and the Perrin gang.

I can't remember if it was the Days Inn or Quality Inn that I stayed in but they let us keep our dogs in the room. We ended up hunting in Vardaman and the place was full of coons. I had a blast.

Yep, that was me! Had a good hunt too and a good time. Of course you're always going to have a good time hanging out with Jamie!
