Garmin?

Ive been out of the coon hunting for a little while and ive got the old wildlife trx3, and am considering upgrading to one of the garmins since im going again.......that being said are they as dependable as the older tracking systems, ive read a lot of post liking them and a lot of post complaining or saying theirs is having issues........ are they more prone to failure issues. I know im gonna get mixed responses but I want some real life experiences with them before I drop that kind of change on one. Thanks everyone.

Garmin

There are advantages and some disadvantages when you compare them to the old beep beep systems, but the advantages out weigh disadvantages by great deal. I just can"t see how I hunted almost 50 years without one.

garmins are great for keeping track of your dog. but because garmins have glitches and are prone to malfunction at any time i always use a small wildlife collar too as a back up. if you use the garmin collar all night and you loose your dog at daylight you have to find him with the garmin telling you ur battery in the collar is about dead.
great for keeping track of your dog but for a all out lost dog i prefer the wildlife range and dependability.
with that said ,,, i wont be given up my garmin any time soon or my wildlife. teamed up u have the best of both worlds..

garmins

I have a 320 and hardly ever have any tech problems, the first summer I used mine the range was around 500 yrds. I get a mile range now in the summer. Don't know why the difference. Keep it downloaded with the latest software and batteries full charged and you won't have any problems and read the owners manual.
