Wow it is just settling in on me I actually won "the big one".....the UKC World! Yeah Jeff so glad you tipped me off about Cindy being for sale.

I have been bombarded with so many emails, fb messages and texts I am still answering them all. I am blown away!

For Cindy to win this is extra extra special! I got to win the World Show in my beloved Kentucky and with a "Kentucky Mtn" hound. Cindy has been in the Overall Female class at the World 5 times having won the English female for each of the last four years and then this year! But this year she wasn't even supposed to be there. After winning breed last year and her second litter born in April..I considered her retired already.....I didn't dream she would still be competitive, but a few weeks ago I was doing routine toenail maintenance before AO and was amazed how well she had rebounded...and commented to my husband she looked as good as ever.

Then my Karlie female gets bred accidentally and I was worried she wouldn't be able to show at UKC world because she might be showing.....(well, Karlie was shown and she did great but she was looking fat in her belly so I'm sure she is bred). So, Cindy was qualified at the LAST qualifier the weekend before AO. So ironic!

It was funny, but when Becky won with Stanley in Plott males.....she said it was his last show as they we were retiring him. I said the same about Cindy winning English female...I knew this would pretty much be her last show also.. How fiiting the two retiring dogs were picked for final two.....

My sincere sentiments to UKC for a wonderful finals. I am thankful to Amy Smith for her consideration in the breed ring and also to Beth Snedegar in finals. Her compliments were touching and she has given me a memory of a lifetime. I will NEVER forget it.

My fondest moment was seeing my husband's face after. I love him so much.... He not only pushed me to qualify Cindy but to enter her in the World and to handle her in the final round. (I originally planned to show my Plott female........but that is a different story in it own right).

I don't think anyone on the grounds could NOT know how excited I was to win. I tend to be an open book and I get so wired I just explode inside when I get picked. That is honest joy bubbling out. I have been showing since 1992 and although i win some these days, I've lost way more so i am truly thankful for each and every victory.. When the day comes I don't feel that way about showing I will have to stop. :-)

I had told my husband that one day I wanted to win the UKC World show. He won the UKC World Nite Hunt in 2003. Now we have those 2 trophies sitting side by side in our living room. Not many people can say that.......God is so good.....ultimately all we have is thru His grace......I am very very very thankful for all my blessings. :-)
