What Do You Like?

I like a dog that will tree with other dogs on a hot track as soon as they are cut, other than that: I want it split treed every time i cut it.
I like a dog that gets treed alone by itself.

I hinted with Tony Grubb and another fella, we made 7 trees and never had more than one dog on a tree at a time all night. That is the kinda dogs i like, How bout yall?

If I turn four dogs loose and they all go the same direction and strike a coon close I would expect all four to be at the tree. Don't want one to quit because of competition. But if they gotta go deep I would like for mine to find his own.

I want mine to hunt on his own. But if he strikes the same coon I'm okay with that since I like a dog to hunt in a circle. But don't want him to go to them and act like he did somethin.

Being a first strike dog with speed and tree is what I like the best ... and after a season or three of experience , deadly at getting a coon struck .. once struck , ignore the other dogs and earthquakes and hellfire .

Those dogs that don't strike first , then peel off ... to me , not only are they not hunting and competing ... they are pouting about a dog that is !

Coon scent being more important than food or water or feelings is where that old time drive comes from. ... them dogs that smell coon but give it up to the pack or won't fight for the lead on coon ... no way are they gamers in my book.

I like a dog that trees all the coons the others dog fly by. Yet is still not afraid to get deep when need be. Gotta be load on the ground and on the tree. No mater what I've figured out the hard way it better be black or I'm gonna take it back.

I like a first honest strike dog. I like a dog with plenty of drive that can ignore the other dogs and drift a track and be first to the tree but above all this I like a dog that has a coon every time I walk to the tree! I do alot more pleasure hunting than competition hunting and I can't stand a slick treeing fool.

Wink

I like a Coondog!!! It can be alone or with company. As long as there's two Coon eyes looking down. And they have to be 1st and 1st.

I like one that is on the tree where the coon is regardless what the other dogs are doing

I like mine to tree ahead of the other dogs, or away from them. I would prefer for my dog to never back another dog, unless he's right with it on the same track. I absolutely will not hunt a dog that will quit what he's doing to go cover another dog.
