Quality Females

I'm just really curious on this. How many quality females are out there? What's their strengths and their weaknesses? I want y'all to be honest. Their faults are just as important as their weaknesses. I think we all look past that way to much. What traits is she throwing? Again, good and bad. What's she being bred to next?

Thanks

Gr.Nt.Ch Black Magic Queen. She is bred right now to Gr.Nt.Ch. Troubadour (troubles)
She is one of the best in the breed IMO. She goes hunting quick, strikes quick with a squal/bawl and a 1st tree dog. Can tree good or bad tracks doesn't matter to her.
The best thing about her is she is throwing pups as good as her or better. I have a male out of her and Gr.Nt.Ch Roughton's Splitter that is one of the smartest dogs I have helped train. His name is Nt.Ch Splitters magic Otis. Hopefully he will finish to Gr.Nt.Ch. this fall or early next spring.

I will give you more on Queen when I get a chance. I',m pretty hard to please and she pleases me, at least most of the time...LOL.

Tree Jar'n Peanut; I like her she can get hooked quick or work a bad track out and get it treed. She could probably be a quicker strike dog though that really doesn't bother me. I don't know what she is producing as she just had her 1st pups a week ago out of Jammer.
If I breed her again it will probably be to BTTB Tex or a shot of some frozen semen. Guess we will see what she reproduces before then.

Gr Nt Ch Layem Up Sugar has been a pleasure to own. I bought her and hunted her 120 nights straight I watched her transform into a top female in that time she is a first or second strike dog and a first tree dog will get by herself Alot real nice mouth. She placed at some big hunts when she was being promoted. She is just one of those dogs you look forward to turning loose you just know when you unsnap her she gonna do her best to please you. She was bred to Gr Nt Ch Gr Ch Rainey Beake Drifter three times and produced some real nice dogs. There is alot of titled dogs out of those crosses the pups all had hunt and track speed and were forever more tree dogs they were gamey the fault Ive seen in some of them are they had chirpy type mouths they all had good mouths you could hear easy tho I have several of those pups I like them alot. Sugar is bred to Gr Nt Ch Screaming Eagle now and will have pups Labor Day Weekend. We will see how these turn out.

Dual Grand Jims Black Jolene

Jolene is a good competition dog. If coons are moving she can easily score +1000 plus in a 2 hr hunt. She has been bred only once to Ch GrNTCH Holdings Northern Rocket Semen. Pups are 5 1/2 months old and all are impressive for their age. If enough interest is shown she
will be bred to Rocket Fuel on her next heat cycle.

X2. One nice hound. EZ going, and muscles up real nice when hunted. The only thing Peanut is short on is tail. Lol.

Grnitech Swan's Allnight Ashley

Jamie Swan's Ashley female is one of the nicest females I've been in the woods with. Night in and night out she is consistent as any out there. She has a very cold nose that she can use and that is hard to find anymore. In my opinion she doesn't have many faults, maybe not a blazing fast track dog but fast enough, independent and accurate. She is a little stubborn. I have a pup off of here that I like. He's got a good nose but is a little stubborn. Last I heard she was being bred to Trackman. Is that still the plan Swan?

Spectated on a GrNt cast at B&T days a few years back. Ashley was in that cast. She didn't win, but I could tell she was the right kind. Got by herself once with a coon. Chris Roady had Viper on that cast, some guy from WV had an English dog that was running the Purina race, and my buddy Scott was hunting Shop Springs Sadie. Lots of dog power on that cast!

Some more good females I can think of off the top of my head.

I've got a nice B&T female in Illinois. PR Frederick's Black Betty. She is out of Dad's NITECH GRCH PR Hutson's Black Ace. She will be put in the hunts hard in a couple months. She's coming off pups from Ky River Batman right now. I have an ad about the pups on the classifieds if you want to see Betty's pedigree.

Strengths:
Loud mouth. I mean male dog loud, screaming squall on the ground, dying locate, good tree dog.

Fast on track. She will pull away from most dogs running a track. I don't know if she runs with her head up or what but she is one of the fastest I've seen.

Good size. She weighs 40 pounds in hunting shape. Some guys may not like her size but that is my size hound. I think she's just perfect. Her sire isn't huge either. They have the mouth to make up for it though.

Quiet in the kennel, good manners around kids. My kids can waller her and play all day with her.

Good mother. She had 13 pups and raised them all. They weren't the smallest pups I've ever seen either. I was surprised how many she had.

Cuts a hole in the dark but hunts from the truck. She doesn't have to horse race a mile to get treed. Doesn't stand at your feet either. I hate that.

Weaknesses:
Medium to hot nosed. She doesn't fool with old bad feeder tracks. It does make it tough some in colder weather. It would be nice if she was colder nosed in the winter but the rest of the year she looks good so it doesn't really bother me. She still trees coon in the winter time but not as many as a good cold nosed dog would.

Won't take crap on the tree. She's not going to start it but if they want to start it, she'll finish it. A buddy of mine had a 90 pound Plott dog who thought he was going to push her off a tree. We were about 30 foot away and she made a believer out of him quick. She just blew at him but she went back to treeing and he did right beside her and we've never had any problems out of them since. That was the first tree they had made together. I wish she'd back off but she will stand her ground.

Started kinda late. Not super late, but not 6 months old either. But from the first time she treed with the old dogs it wasn't long before she was treeing coon by herself. It was like a light switch went off in her head.

I know she's not the best female in the world and I'm sure she's not the best female in the breed but I like her. Got a Walker guy to switch to Black dogs (guy who owns other half of her). If someone else had her who would campaign her in the hunts she'd be better known for sure. I think she'll help the breed and that is why I bred her to Batman.

Unfortunately, there's not nearly as many as you would be led to believe if you listen to alot of chatter. The best female I've seen in a while is the Gillums Monkey female. She would make short work of the last several I've drawn in hunts.

the neatest thing about Achilla is that her strengths are genetic , I never had to train her to do anything ... the first cage coon I let loose she ran and stuck with in the heat of the day when the other dogs quit and her first tree she let out a big locate .. since that first tree she has never pulled to dogs , stuck a tree and left ... and she locates coming in and with confidence ... she just does it .

Same with hunting around water , she has a gift for getting a track away from water when dogs are splashing around and having trouble .. she just runs it like you laid a drag.

She throws that most of her pups too .. they do need little things like her and have alot of tree .

Her weakness is being too honest , I never got on her bad for trashing or horse racing .. but she won't do it and will get away from dogs that do ... so when it happens and we are chasing dogs down you gotta load her up or leave her to get run over or stolen and I just can't do that ... but 90% of the time if you cut a couple males loose that wanna be queer and make noise she will strap it on them ... the times coon aren't close and they blow out running trash or each other she misses out.
