Best cast I ever lost

Last saturday I entered Gr.Ch.Nt.Ch. Meadowoods blue Penny in a Nt.Ch Cast. We lined them up at first woods and I struck Penny right off leash and a fellow said "if she dont continue that track she should be minus, The other dogs never opened .The judge had hunted with Penny before and replied " dont worry she will finish I,ve Drew her before. Penny hammered and hammered making slow progress incresing speed little by little. The other dogs treed a hot one.

Penny drove that track about eigth mile and ended up in a cornfield. The coon came poring out and the other dogs treed 3 more hot coon. Penny drove her track in and showed us the meat 40+ min used.

Next woods 38 min used Penny ran one cold track by herslf using 38 min and treed a coon no other dog smelled it. They did tree a hot one.

Next woods Penny struck a super cold track thought the 8 was gonna get her but didn't she drove it way in there and warmed it up . I caught her so the winner could make deadline. She was getting ready to tree that one.

If we were coon hunting season she'd tree them cold ones and then get those hot ones one at a time as she came to em.

I lost, they brought coondogs and I brought a hound! A special thank to Matt Turner for selling me Penny she is one of my favorites though Abbey and Kit can smoke her on a cold track, I got them from Matt also!

I`m glad you like Penny,she is cold nosed and has a mind of her own and starts a track and finishes it.no big ears on her.she has did her share of winning this year.nothing wrong in loosing the cast.sounds like she did her thing and the other hounds did theirs.heres couple pics for you of Penny.Enjoy

John you keep those hounds in the timber and they will treat you right and might deserve a pat on the head and a leftover biscuit every once in a while.
