let everyone know

you should name the mean dog so he doesn't ruin any good young dogs for folks ths tim

Was the mean dog written up for fighting, if not don't come on here and complain. People unwilling to write up these ill dogs is why the sport has so many of them.

I agree that we dont nee mean dogs,but some wanna scratch a dog for a lil bit of yaw yawing or jockying for position. I dont agree with that either. I also dont agree with scratching a stay put tree dog,that gets aggrivated at a tree running and tree jacking idiot.

UKC needs a better guideline towards what they call aggression.
Some aggression is antagonized and brought on by other dogs.

Nothing can ruin a hunt quicker than drawing out with a gator. You'll run into that a lot at these hunts.

We have some "touchy" dogs in these parts. Seen boys withdraw cause who they got drawed out with. If you hunt a lot. Word gets out quick who is packing gators and you will know what your in for before the hunt. So maybe you can avoid that. Firm believer in scratching aggresive dogs.Seen a few good young dogs set back and ruined because of that.

that walker will run into a black dog with enough grit to put him off the tree sooner or later.

I agree 100% with Todd. I like mine to be a tiny bit touchy when it comes to other aggravating tree dogs as long as it doesn't use any teeth contact or try and run a dog off or START any trouble. Just a simple, "back the heck up" I like in a dog. And if another dog chooses to enter their teeth into one of mine, I want it to be the last time it thinks about doing it again. Because, 9 times out of 10 both dogs are going to get scratched if a fight breaks out, knowing the one at fault will not own up to it. Just my OPINION.

My dog fought because the other dog was jumping on the tree, my dog fought because the other dog was chewing and pulling vines, my dog fought because the other dog was running around and around the tree. It's always the other dogs fault, if the other dog is only pulling vines, jacking the tree and your dog grabs him you have the mean dog. I've seen full blooded gators and the owners say that they might be a bit touchy. If I have one that's a gator, I'll kill him faster than you can bat your eyes and I don't care how great he is.

Just to clear my previous post up a little. I do Not want a MEAN dog. Only when ANOTHER dog sinks his teeth in mine is when I want mine to have enough grit and since to defend itself.

Same Here .
I aint hunting a dog that leavrs the tree,because of a lil blowing.
I also aint gonna hunt a dog,that i have to worry about all night grabbing a dog either.I will take a happy medium.
Im also gonna keep a dog that wants to tree more than it wants to.fight.

I'd much rather hunt a dog who will just back up and keep treeing than one who will fight to stand on the tree.

Bill(chew) you nailed it. A good hard tree dog with brains will not leave, but keep the tree between him and the gator.
