-- The Reason People Wont Leave Welfare (http://forums.ukcdogs.com/showthread.php?threadid=928329803)
The Reason People Wont Leave Welfare
ELEVEN STATES, HI, CA, NM, AL, SC,KY, IL,OH, NY, ME, MS Have More People on Welfare than Working. From The SENATE BUDGET COMMITTEE FOR 2012, BETWEEN FOOD STAMPS, HOUSING SUPP, CHILD CARE, MEDICAID, AND OTHER BENEFITS, PEOPLE BELOW THE POVERTY LEVEL RECIEVED $168.13 PER DAY IN GOVERNMENT SUPPORT. WELFARE THAT EQUATES TO @ $ 30.00 PER HR. FOR RECIPIENTS AND WORKERS MAKE @ $20.00 PER HR. IN ANOTHER WAY, $ 30X40 HRS. PER WEEK=$ 1200. WORKERS $ 20.00 X 40 = $800 PER WEEK. THE REASON, I BELIEVE LIES IN THESE FIGURES. LETS START WITH IKE, PEOPLE WITH BUSINESS EXPERIENCE IN HIS CABINET, 57%, KENNEDY HAD 30%, JOHNSON HAD 47%,NIXON HAD 53%, FORD HAD 42 %, CARTER HAD 32%, REAGAN HAD 56%,G.H.BUSH HAD 51%,CLINTON HAD 39%, G.W.BUSH HAD 55%, AND oblamo has 8%. THAT'S NO TYPO!!! THAT'S THE REASON, AS I SEE IT, AS TO SUCH A DISMAL FINANCIAL RECORD BY SOMEONE SITTING IN THE WHITE HOUSE. How can the president of a major nation and society, the one
with the most successful economic system in world history, stand and talk
about business when he's never worked for one? Or about jobs when he has
never really had one? And when it's the same for 92% of his senior staff
and closest advisers? They've spent most of their time in academia,
government and/or non-profit jobs or as "community organizers."
They should have been in an employment line.
YOU' WILL NEVER see these facts in the LAME STREAM MEDIA!!! And For You Liberals, You can Do Your Own Fact Searching!!!
brushrunretiree, you left out a key part of that.
quote:
The category includes 11 states where private sector workers are outnumbered by people who are dependent on the government. That number would include state workers, and people who are receiving welfare or pension.
Wow!!
Fact is single mother of two makes more off welfare than if she got a job for minimum wage. Spit out another illegitimate kid and she gets more benefits. No incentive for them to get off welfare

One of the reasons those stats are flawed is because it includes pension is included - The "takers" total included those who collect any form of Medicaid benefit, those who are gainfully employed but work for the government (rather than in the private sector), and unfunded pension liabilities (a measure which is based on dollar amounts to be paid to retired workers and not on a count of people).
The reason brushrunretiree wants folks to fact check is because if he posted the results of the fact check or links to the fact checks, then this post would have no merit.

CAN YOU REMEMBER THE OLD JERRY REED SONG "WHEN YOU'RE HOT YOU'RE HOT" ? The line at the end of the song after he gets 30 days..about "who's gonna collect my welfare..pay for my cadilac?"..The system has been broke for as long as the president has been alive! This country got sold out by Reagan and both little shrubs...and now we will not put another Republican in the White House and you know it! You guys just bash and spread lies and hate....

In Immigration and Welfare Magnets (NBER Working Paper No. 6813) , NBER Research Associate George Borjas concludes that "the generous welfare benefits offered by some states have magnetic effects and alter the geographic sorting of immigrants in the United States." He finds that there is a "striking and easily observable" clustering of immigrants in high-benefit states, such as California. This is especially true for immigrants receiving welfare as opposed to those who are not. Natives do not cluster in the same way, perhaps because they find it expensive or costly in other ways to move from one state to another. Immigrants have already decided to make the costly move to the United States, and then must only decide which state is most advantageous to them. The extra cost of reaching that state may be small.
Cottrill, I didn't read your post before I posted my latest. You're right, It didn't start eight years ago. My BEEF, Is that this dude ain't done diddly since the inception of his socialistic agenda. He's not done anything to help anyone in this country, unless you contributed HEAVILY to his campaign. Through the EPA, your ELECTRIC BILL will keep rising until you wont be able to have your home electric on, You'll have to have it Rationed!! How are "SENIORS", RETIREES going to pay these elevated costs?? You think NATURAL GAS is the answer?? The cost of Natural Gas is about 30 times higher to produce ELECTRICITY. Just wait until the costs raise on that industry. Already the TREE HUGGERS" are trying to STOP FRACKING. If he folds to them, he'll succeed in bringing down this once great country. WITHOUT FIRING A SHOT!!!
The problem is we are holding ourselves down I think. We should march and raise heck in the streets in front of every capital building and Washington. Tell em we are sick to death of of this bull crap going on. One day we are gonna have to stand up for ourselves. Quit letting the minority groups of different organizations rule everything .

welfare and ss disbality has expanded by leaps and bounds under obama. they are actually actively trying to encourage folks to go on these type of programs. the numbers and facts back this up.

If mccain or romney would've won you'd had a picnic in the park as they screwed this country over and never said a word, you oughta thank obama so at least from this point on you might pay attention.

Sorry brush, but we have found you can prove anything with stats, poorest states, dumbest states, prettiest states and so forth. You really think a repub in office will make a difference or one issue being solved will turn around this mess that has being going on for years? I think we are about the dollar first and everything else is for division purposes.

I know this just didn't happen.
It's been going on for years. But I know a lady that works for the ss admin here in town. She is a caseworker and they do have a quota to meet on the number of people that they have to get approved for ss. And she does make a bonus for meeting her quota.
The proofs in black n white, I've seen billboard ads driving on the interstate encouraging welfare programs. Don't have much time for t.v..

Mr. West, I'm not sure what you're post is saying?? Are you saying that unemployment is without welfare numbers, or they are?? I don't believe the unemployment number for W.V. is accurate. The Northern Panhandle is @ 14% and I'd Venture to say with the current onslaught by the current administration on COAL that the southern counties aren't skyrocketing. I'll try to find something and get back.
The three %'s and total unemployed result in the last year ending in June 2013. It is trending downward, but the biggest omission I see, It doesn't account for Wages!!!
