How hard is it to get papers for a dog that doesn't have them?

I have a 1year old female and I'm wondering how hard it is to get papers for her?

If you don't have at least some puppy papers, as far as I know, your only hope is to single register the dog.

Sometimes if you absolutely know what they're out of, but lost the papers , you can go back to the breeder for his records and between him , you & UKC you can work out which pup it was and get duplicate papers . If you don't know single registration would be the other option .
