Just walk her around corn fields on cool nights and maybe cut a coon or 2 loose in front of her but don't show them to her just cut them and wet them down and then cast her like you are going hunting if it's in her and she's ready it will come out!!! The main thing is be patient and I mean very petient!! Oh and the most important thing is be patient!!!! You and her both will be better off if she staters alone and is hunted alone until she gets foxing then you know it's what she is naturally born with and not just me toeing with another dog and she also wont pick up any bad habits!!! Oh it's gonna be boring propably a bunch of nights but when she starts and you see her progress then it will be worht it and you will be hooked!!!! Oh and did I mention be patient and if she runs something off when she first starts don't worry and don't go to whipping or stocking her remember she is a pup and again be patient
The average pup just starts at 8-12 months old so you have plenty of time. Most guys want a pup to start as early as possible. In most cases starting early has nothing to do with how good a pup turns out...Just starting out I tell everybody to get and read the (Walk with Wick books). You will learn more from reading them. Than most guys will learn from a life time hunting.. Starting with a pup can also take a long time. Most guys don't have the patience to work with pups. That's why its best to start out with a older well broke dog .Say you get a 6 yr old. That gives you a dog to hunt now and 4 plus yrs in the future. You can always work with pups. But its nice to have a dog to hunt with buddys that you know what the dog will do.. A lot of guys don't like hunting with pups all the time.
