Night Champion point system??
Would someone please explain to me how a hound is to reach Nite Ch staus. I have read it and had it explained about 3 different ways. I am new to this and just looking for clarification. Thanks
To make Nite Champion a dog needs 100 points and a first place win. The points are as follows:
1st - 40
2nd - 35
3rd - 30
4th - 25
5th - 20
6th - 15
7th - 10
8th - 5
9th - 5
10th - 5

This is straight from the rule book.
1. UKC NITE CHAMPION (NITECH) The official UKC
points awarded in the registered portion of a UKC
Licensed Nite Hunt are as follows:
PLACE POINTS
1st...................................................................40
2nd.................................................................35
3rd..................................................................30
4th ..................................................................25
5th ..................................................................20
6th ..................................................................15
7th ..................................................................10
8th ................................................................... 5
9th ................................................................... 5
10th ................................................................. 5
To be declared an official Nite Champion, a dog
must have at least 100 UKC points recorded on the
records in the UKC Championship Office and have at
least one first place win in a UKC Licensed Nite Hunt.
A dog must have a total score of plus points, and
be a cast winner, before they can receive Cham -
pionship points. The ten high point cast winners from
different casts will be judged the first ten winners.

Thanks Guys, I understand what the book says and how many points per place are awarded. What I have been told contradicting stories about is if a dog has to have a cast win before they get points or if they acrew points and need a cast win. I have been told both ways and short of calling UKC was hoping for calrification.
These points are for whatever place you win in a UKC Licensed Event.
In order to place at an event you must:
1. Hunt the entire advertised hunt time.
2. Have a total score of plus points.
3. Be a cast winner.
You do not receive a placement, or championship points, if all three of these obligations are not met.

i didnt understand the same thing when i started....i actually tied at an RQE with a nice score...other guy placed and i didnt....i asked a couple guys why...
you HAVE to win your cast to place or get points or anything...
then say there are 3 registered casts..you have 450+ another cast winner had 150+ and the other had 675+ you would have a 2nd place win and 35pts towards nitech..
to make nitech you have to have 100 or more points and one of the wins must be 1st place registered...
i didnt understand how 2 dogs could have 575+ and one is a winner and one is nothing....but, thats how it is...
