What kind of dog pleases you ?
I was just thinking about dogs and hunting. Planning on starting back soon. Got to thinking about I wonder how many people feel like I do. I will compare it to buying a car. How many have ever felt like this or can relate to this ? Bob goes to a car lot to pick out a car to buy. He takes his 10 "friends" with him. His 10 friends make up a list of standards put it on a piece of paper and hand it to Bob. They follow Bob around from car to car and watch over his shoulder as he checks each car out carefully. He watches the list and then listens to his friends. He even test drives the cars. He leaves with a Corvette. The next day he's driving the car and his back hurts. The seat dont adjust and theres not enough room. Theres no support for his lower back. The stearing wheel dont adjust and its not in the right place. It gets about 6 miles to the gallon and now he has to work 3 jobs just to pay for gas. Its green. He hates green , his favorite color is red. There is no radio. He misses that. He goes to get insurance and find out he cannot even afford that at all even though he works 3 jobs. He has to sell his house and rent an apartment so he can get insurance on the car. A few years later Bob looks back and realizes how bad he hates this car and everything it has cost him. I wonder if next time he goes car shopping will he take his "friends" and their list of standards or will he go get a car he really likes ???????????????????????????????
BOB
sells his car & gets a MULE no ins. no gas ..&can coon hunt W/ it
I want one that's flashy with lots of chrome.

only you
Sheep, as soon as you added "friends" or other folks into the mix you are destined for an unpleasureable experience.
YOU & ONLY YOU can decide what will please YOU.
YOU will make a decision based on the previous experiences YOU have had.
My 2 cents ............ when you go dog buying, get one that will please YOU & meet all the standards on the list that YOU have compiled.
If it isn't tailored to you & your preferences, I can't see any other way you would be pleased enough with the outcome of a buying experience to stay in the game & continue to enjoy it.

I like a medium to hot nosed hound that travels hard and fast, it does not have to hunt in a straight line but hussle and I mean really hussle. I really don't care if it is an absolute first strike dog but strike only on tracks that it's nose will allow it to work. I have found in my country this kind of dog has more coons that you look at! Trailing type dogs end up in dens to often here! But like has been said already you have to decide what you like!!! It doesn't have to please anyone but the man hunting and feeding it!!!!!

Apparently lots of people are easy pleased by the rattle-headed, slick treeing idiots they are hunting.
That's no joke there are a lot of them out there! I like an ambush artist to a certain extent

Thanks for the responses. I think we all agree on this. But sometimes i think i have forgotten the fact that i feed my dogs and therefore they must make ME happy.
I like a coondawg! It could chop on track bawl on tree, have pink dots all over it if it treed coon and had all the tools and made limited mistakes I'd feed it! "That's a fact, Jack"
