Bayer Tree and Shrub for fleas

Never had a dog get fleas in 10 years of owning them. One of my hounds caught a coon on the ground 2 days ago and now has fleas... I've been reading about the Bayer Tree and Shrub all I can find is the protect and feed which is not what I'm suppose to use and the other is Bayer Advanced complete insect killer... Is that the right one?? I'm nervous trying new things on my dogs, I'm a dog groomer and dogs come in infested with fleas and have all the vet products on so I'm wanting something different. Any help is appreciated!

Thats the stuff, without the feed, the active ingredeint stats with a 'I' . I wont even try to spell it, I know ACE hardware has there brand without the feed in it. thats what I use when I run out of the Bayer, sorry I dont know the spelling , but the lable will say active ingredient is icropord, something like that, and under that word will say inert ingredients.

It is called Bayer Advanced Tree and Shrub Protect and Feed. The main ingredient is Imidacloprid, which is the same main ingredient in Frontline. I have been told to use a syringe without the needle in it to apply it to the dog's back, starting at the base of the tail and working backwards to part the hair all the way to the neck. We do this once a month and have no fleas whatsoever.

You can also use one called amdro the main ingredient is more in amdro than bayer and my walmart didn't have the bayer without fertilizer so I started using the amdro with the same results!!! No fleas,!!!!!ticks etc

I won't advise you to use the Bayer with the fertilizer but I will tell you that I have with no problems. If you read the label you won't find enough fertilizer to keep a blade of grass alive. It only has nitrogen and its very little. Less than a bottle of ammonia has.

old dominion makes one that doesnt have fertilizer in it. also, look for other products, like grub killer, as long as they have the main ingredient they will work.

.

I have found a product that works wonders on dogs for fleas and ticks. We have some yorkies and this year then got infested with fleas. I got some Spectra Shield tags and put on their collars and problems solved. The last 4 months and are only $16 each.

I used the Bayer on the house dogs and they threw up for three days. Tried it again and had the same results. Won't use it on the house dogs anymore.

Make sure you put it between the shoulder blades where the dog can't lick it. I used it on the hounds with no side effects. I put it between shoulder blades. I put it on the wifes Blue Heeler on the back and chest. Big mistake. She kept licking it and foaming at the mouth and vomitting. We gave her a warm bath with ivory dish soap and now she is fine. You would know it would have to be her dog to get sick. LOL She is still mad at me.

Tried the same product in the picture. Diluted it & sprayed it on my hounds & my lab 2 different times. It does work ,BUT my lab about died, guess he had some kind of reaction .Will Never put it on another dog.Lots of safer products to use; the lab is part of my family & I wont take another chance. Just my thoughts, Jr. Steelman

Bayer

I have used this stuff for 9 years, i've also lost two dogs to cancer, this year, ain't none of the spot stuff, they're putting out safe, for dogs, or people. Yes, it will kill fleas, but it will also, give your dog, cancer.
