Hot Spots

My pup has a hot spot on her back right above her tail. I took her to the vet wednesday and he gave her an antibiotic and a steriod prescription and also a cream to rub on the spot to prevent itching. I was wondering how long it took for hot spots to completely heal? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
