Question about Poor Boy Hunts
What's considered a "Poor Boy" hunt in your area?
What kind of entry fee for the show and hunt?

at our club in Lancaster SC a poor boy hunt has the same entry fees, 10 for show and 20 for the hunt.the diffrence is the prizes.at a poor boy hunt we dont give dog feed or trophys to the winners.just a win slip.
Most Poorboy hunts in my area are $5.00 - $15.00 . No trophy given or anything like that , just the win slip.
our poorboys are 10.00 for the show and 15.00 for the hunt.

Our club has a Trophy or Plaque hunt for $15 show and $20 hunt. We give a nice picture plaque and often a small prize for overall like feed or a leash.
Our poor boy is $10 show and $15 hunt, we give the small bag of doggie treats to show winners and a bag of feed, alkaline batteries, or $10 walmart gift cards to cast winners. Last couple of poor boys we dis a gift bag with $12 worth of items inside.

We don't see many trophies around here. Hunts are $20 and some even $25. This is from 4 different clubs.
Hunt
iT'S my understanding that a poorboy hunt is for the club to have a ukc hunt for a lower entry fee , than a regular hunt due to not giving any kind of prizes, - trophies.( the clubs that are charging a full hunt entry fee with no trophies, or prizes is just takeing advantage of the hunter's that come to there hunt's.) If the club is having a poorboy hunt at full prise then they are abusing U.K.C. HUNT RULES and they are getting alot of money by not haveing any prizes. Poorboy Hunt means (LOWER ENTRY, NO PRIZES- TROPHIES).
I agree...We charge $5 for the show and $10 for the hunt.

Around here most Poorboys are $15-$20 with more towards $20. Clubs are dropping the number of events they hold and are trying to maximize profits.

What's up, Brogy!
It seems to be mostly $15 for the show and $20 for the hunt around here, with some exceptions. Just seems high for a "Poor Boy" event to me.

The largest trophy I have ever seen at a hunt was a $5 entry fee.
