Most of us who used them aint spring chickens anymore - we are getting older!! We also ran thru the woods with coleman white gas lanterns.

BTW we're the same crowd that learned how to drive in trucks that had wing vents and "three on the tree" transmissions.

I used one when I was a boy. We had 6 cell flashlights to shine with. Of course, that was about 50 years ago. I still have one but it is not for sale.

I lost one in a house fire 2 yrs ago that my dad bought me when I was about 7 or 8 yrs old. Hunted many, many nights carrying it. I had owned it around 50 yrs.

carbide lights

I still have one that I used when I was a teenager . I"m not telling my age but I know it is now over 65 yrs. old. Hunting in the hills of S. Mo. you sometimes ran out of water for them so you can guess what you did to get her going again. Ha. Many of times.
