I had the same problem not long ago. It was the antenna. I replaced my antenna, because I had a spare available. If nothing else try removing the antenna and clean the connection surfaces. I applied terminal or electrical grease at the antenna connection point. This grease can be bought at auto parts store in little packets and cheap. After grease is applied reconnect the brass antenna screw, carefully not to strip it. Also make sure your up to date on your handheld and collar software updates. Good luck.

I've seen several dc-40's start working like they should with a antenna change . Something about the original not being as good as an aftermarket just doesn't seem right to me . Everybody & their brother sells replacements and I find it hard to believe they all have better resourses to develope an antenna than Garmin does yet that seems to be the fix . Just doesn't seem right .
