Bark collars on pups
I've had walkers for quite a while and never really needed a bark collar on any of my dogs. I have 2 pups now (1-4 mos old 1-3 mos old), they both will bark all day long in the kennel. I am considering getting bark collars for them before my neighbors end up shooting me. Only question I had is this, is the bark collar going to screw them up when it comes time to start working with coons? I have never showed them a coon yet and don't plan to for a couple months but don't want to deal with barking all day either. Appreciate any opinions. Thanks!

No it wont mess them up. I use them if they start barking a lot. The only thing is you havta watch how long you leave the coller on cause there necks are not as tuff as a older dog so it can get sore qwicker then a older dog. Also if you get a bark collar put it on but dont turn it on for the first week. Also take it off every night so they dont get sore. Try to shut them up just as you would with out the collar. Week two turn it on and tell them no when they bark. That should help them from getting collar smart. If you get one get a good one like sport dog that shocks on sound and vibration both. After about ten min. they will not bark any more.
.
Just be real careful with those bark collars on that young of a pup. Once you start hunting them and you strap on the tracking collar and maybe a shock collar down the road, they may shut down on you a little. Going through that now with a young dog. He barked non stop so I put a bark collar on him. Was confused as to why he would never open on track or the tree. Took off his tracking collar and he came alive. Long story short, sometimes those bark collars work too good.
