any advice
i have a 2 year old bluetick that i am working with. i am having some trouble with him and am looking for some advice or tips to get him turned the right way. The problem is when i take him hunting and if he doesn't tree and I'm ready to go he wont let me catch him. It seems it happens more often when he hits a road he just seems to want to run not hunt. after an half an hour or so when i have tried to call him in with no luck i can get in the truck and drive down the road he show up and follow me, but when i stop he runs off and wont come to me after a mile or two he will usually let me catch him. I have worked with him on a leash and a 25ft rope. With the rope he seems to mind very well but with out it he has a mind of his own. I have used hot dogs as treats. The only thing i haven't tried is an ecollar since i don't own one may have to find one to borrow.
I seen a man get a long piece of weed eater line one time. He put it on the dog and it made catching it much easier. He got the line strait some kind of way but I never asked how. The line never did tangle up so that must of been why he was using it. There is nothing more frustrating than one that doesn't want to be caught.
You need to borrow an ecollar

My young dog was doing the same thing. Got an e-collar popped his butt one time and it was the end of that.

if u can at all afford a ecollar get 1 with a 2 year old dog u will need 1. learn how 2 use responsible.
found a e-collar to use for a while i am planning on going to the local ball field that is fenced in and use it there. then move to the woods. any tips on training with the e-collars let me know
Put him on a long lead first and just buzz him and say come hear and drag him to you, remember getting shocked is a traumatic experience pet him good let him know he's still your buddy
