ACHA

Timber Choppin Dan was the overall winner at the ACHA World hunt I'm guessing it was 10 or so years ago. The hunt was held in Southern Illinois. Flora, Robinson or Claremount I don't remember exactly which club held it that year. I remember that week was tough hunting that year, walker guys hunting in it told me that the Red dog won by being a coondog. Staying out of trouble, getting by himself all the time and having coons in his trees.

Well that's crazy. I knew the dog was a hell of a hound didn't know much about him other than he won a world hunt didn't know when either. But he sounds to have been one outstanding coon dog for sure. Thanks for the info.

DAN

DAN COMES FROM ABOUT 5-6 MILES EAST OF ME, DAN WAS ONE HECK OF A LAYUP DOG FOR SURE IF COONS WERE'NT MOVING HE WOULD DROP IN & LAY A COON UP THAT HAD NEVER BEEN ON THE GROUND.

AND THEY DID HUNT IN THE POURING RAIN ALL WEEK THAT YR. WHICH WAS IN 2001.

DAN WOULD GET THREW THE COUNTRY IF THERE WAS NOTHING HAPPENING.OL DAN HAD NO COME BACK IN HIM WHAT SO EVER COULD WORK ABOUT ANY KIND OF TRACK I WAS TOLD BY JOSH.

SAM BROWN OF MI. OWNED HIM FOR A SPELL THEN JOE MELTON GOT HIM FROM SAM & SAM MIGHT HAVE GOT HIM FROM JOE TO START WITH ALSO,ANYWAY JOSH BOUGHT HIM FROM JOE HUNTED HIM 30 NIGHTS STRAIGHT TILL THE WORLD HUNT CAME OFF ALL COONDOG JOSH TOLD ME SEVERAL TIMES HE ALSO STATED HE WISH HE HAD NEVER SOLD HIM !
