False Pregnancy ??????

WHY DO FEMALES DO THIS? HOW DO I HELP HER FROM FROM NOT DOING THIS.I WOULD LIKE HER TO COME IN HEAT

Posted by prostockpat on 04-26-2013 12:41 AM:

thyroid

get her to a vet and get her thyroid checked asap.i went through same thing.she will be on thyroid pill{s} rest of her life,if thats problem.
also,have vet test blood for parasite{s} too.there is usually "something" that makes thyroid go out of "wack"

Most females experiencing a false pregnancy usually have to come in heat for them to experience the false pregnancy cycle. They usually go through the total 63 day gestation period just as though you had bred them. Plott females are bad to do this. It is totally a hormone thing. I have females that do this on a regular basis and some that do not. They seem to get better about not experiencing them with age.

Hope this helps, this has just been my experience dealing with this.

!!!!

a female with a thyroid problem will have messed up,split or no heat cycles.maybe bleed a day or 2 and go out.even a false pregnancy.
been there, seen it,dealt with all the above.until i took mine to the vet. she was .7 {way low}
vet said normal is 2.0-4.0
now has normal heat cycles,and acts better.

get the female to a "good" vet.{no old school type}and get blood tested and thyroid checked.
like i posted above,there is usually something that causes the thyroid to go off.

prostockpat that is good to know. Most of mine that experience a false pregnancy come in every 6 mo and have a normal heat cycle. I have had blood panel drawn on 1 female and her thyroid was normal. But would not hurt to check that out.

My female has went through multiple times. After the third time she got mestitus in one of her nipples and I decided to take her to the vet. The vet said I needed to breed her soon before she got worse. I breed her the next time she had took with no problem and she hasnt had a false pregnancy sense.

Feed her out of a copper pan.

Old Timers told me if you have this condition in a bitch feed her out of a copper pan and it will stop. Heard it helped a bunch of times.

copper bowl?

with all the parasites there are today;
eulichnia,rocky mnt. fever,lymne disease;all from ticks.

let alone ;rabies,parvo,heartworms,distemper,coon hound paralysis,& etc.

the "old timer"method{s} aren't worth the risk.a simple blood test can answer it all{it did for me}.
